Default Terrae Expugnandae Gold - Preview 1

Here is the first preview of the upcoming Gold edition of my mod, that will have all the features of 5.0, all the fixes 5.1 makes, plus more fixes and more added features, mainly graphical touches. It wil also feature fine tuning of unit stats and campaign map settings. Gold will be fully save game compatible with 5.0 or 5.1 save games. Consider it the definitive version of my mod.

Today i will preview 2 of the new features that will be in gold, new settlement and port models, and palm forests, and i will also preview the new faction banners some factions will get.

EDIT:Some of the faction banners and symbols used in this preview are no longer going to be used in TE Gold.

    New settlements and Ports

These pics show the new settlement and port models, and also show off the mundus magna cmapaign map i use in TE. The pics show a different area of the map in each one, and also show the new symbols the Britons, Macedons, Seleucids, Ptolemaios and Parthia will be getting in Gold.

    Briton

    Ireland

    Scandinavia

    Germania

    Gaul

    West Iberia

    North East Iberia

    Numidia

    Carthage

    Sicily

    South Italy

    Rome

    North Italy

    Illyria

    Dacia and Thrace

    Greece

    Pontus

    Syria

    Egypt

    Bablyonia

    Parthia

    Scythia

    India

    Palm Forests

That last pic brings me nicely onto the next few feature, palm forests. Missing from RTW, thanks to the efforts of the EB team, and TA(sorry can't remember how to spell your name) in particular, there is now a tutorial on how to add palm forests into the game at .org, and i have used that tutorial to get them ingame. This has resulted in me adding in a new custom battle map for Gold, so players can experience the new palm forests themselves without travelling to India or parts of the Nile on the cmapaign map. The custom battle selection screen pic for this map is shown below, and should give some idea of how the map looks, ill have better pics of it in the next preview.

    New faction Symbols

Here are the new faction symbols i will be using in Gold, they will be replacing existing ones and are done by Kaweh K.

From left to right: britons, macedonia, seleucids, ptolemaios, parthia

Yeah, those palm forests look a bit special. Also like those faction symbols, and new campaign map graphics.

Lusted, before you release the next version of your mod, you may want to include the Siege Tower bug fix I've sorted today. There's more info on how to do this in the following topics:

Regarding this what was posted earlier: after some more extensive tests on a variety of culture types and docking distances against numerous wall sections, it appears that this potential bug fix doesn't fix every single wall section, which is unfortunate. However, the test results revealed that fewer wall sections were bugged than what existed before modification to the docking distances.

Also, if this change is made to the docking distance, it should at least fix another bug that existed previously in vanilla. This was a random unit casualty bug that affected around 20-25% of each unit as it stepped onto the walls after exiting the tower.

    Thanks.

Yes, my mod uses the exact number of provinces there are on the Mundus Magna campaign map, which is near to the 200 province limit.

I agree. I was disappointed with the golden helmet, it looked so out of place, and too yellowish.
