Default Computer Speakers - Wire Damage?

Just a thing i've noticed with audio. Ear-buds and speakers.

Sometimes you will have basically a power loss or an inconsistent sounds in some of the speakers. Usually re-positioning the speaker will make the sound return or change the volume of it.

My computer speakers have this at the moment. One speaker works fine. The other one is fine but if i move it backwards or forwards along the table, i get varying degrees of volume and occasionally gets cut off.

I'm led to believe this is due to fraying damage in the wires. Am i right?

Most likely. Try to play with the wire until you find the approximate place where the wire is damaged. After that go up and down the wire by about two to three inches, loop it onto itself in a way that the speaker maintains constant connection and then tape the two loops together above and below the break point. Don't tape it too tight or you may cause more damage. Good luck!

Yup, alternately to what PoleCat suggested, for stationary speakers:

    Cut, splice, etc.

Ok now so these speakers i was talking about were still functional but i saw a pair for $18, postage included.
Brought them (Genius Sp-U110). Now i guess what you pay is what you get!
(They arnt terrible..but...they dont take away, but contribute to the black spaghetti behind the computer, tbh it could be likened more to untamed publc hair)
anyway, i have noticed they seem to have better' ears' in that they pick up so much! I first sat them on the wifi machine thing and they went crazy with noise.
There is a constant humming noise. Might be because the phone is in use, dunno.
    Whats making all this noise?

EDIT: Awesome, if you leave the USB plug in and take the green plug out and you put your finger on it, it makes dubstep!! Lol

Interference. Could be from a number of sources. At $18 those speakers are cheap and probably poorly insulated. Move them around and try to triangulate where the interference is coming from. Good luck!
