As long as he has the beard, dyed red or whatever auburn is, I don't mind. But only as long as he has a beard and 'stache.

The Jaime Lannister we have is pretty damn good as far as I'm concerned.

It's an interesting choice I have to say, but I'm willing to give him the chance. Hopefully he won't be another Asha, who I still think doesn't really fit the role.

A few casting choices that contradict the rumored casting I posted.

It's going to take a LOT to convince us that this weasely, boney actor with teeth can pull off the regal Edmure's look. And that's not to mention how wrong his voice is, either. He'd be better cast as a commoner or a low-born merc or something, not Edmure.

I found him very good in Rome, playing Brutus, a character of high birth.

You have no idea how he will look or sound until the third season arrives (or at the the trailers). How about you stop judging?

The creators are massive fanboys. I doubt they are taking any casting lightly.

All the casting has been announced. So let's shut this thread down until the next season comes out is what you're saying? No. Now is the time for baseless and aimless speculation and judgement. Contribute or let it be.

They already did plenty of bad casting so why not think they'd do more? Yeah you can claim it's a different entity thus Edmure could be different but still.

Actually, not all of the casting has been announced. Has there been word of a Mance, yet? What I'm saying is, you have no idea how he will actually perform in the role until you...gasp...see him perform in the role.

Asha, Renley, Stannis, Davos looks nothing like Davos should be and it actually should make a difference but he played the part well enough you don't care, so that's a decent cast. Maergaery's actress was horrid. Yeah to be fair a lot of characters are cast badly physically but the actors flush out the role like Richard Addy, but some were just horrible. Dany's acting got pretty bad in the second season.

Renly was physically different, but the problem was how he was written, they changed the character. That it's not the actor's fault, and he managed to get better in the second season.
Stannis was changed too, still he has some resamblance and the actor is playing his part well.Agree about Asha, she doesn't match book Asha in look nor in character and the actress is not doing a great job.

Some of those characters are the epitome of background characters in the second season. Maergaery was in, what, three scenes? Renley has only had a handful of scenes throughout the two seasons. Asha has been in only a few scenes as well, though I'm aware she's supposed to be older.

When it comes to casting actors for looks, there's always a problem. Sure, you can find an actor that looks great, but can they act? When you find an actor that acts great, how often do they completely look the part? It's rare to find an actor that embodies both qualities in a certain role. Dinklage doesn't look at ALL like Tyrion is described, yet I hardly think people care about that.

As for Dany, I will agree. But I just don't like her character in general, so I may be biased.

Dude, With some long dyed red hair on him, he will look the part, trust me. What I am looking forward to, is his exchanges with Cat and Blackfish on screen. Absolutely superb actor.

I for one thought the whole court of the king in the narrow sea was spot on. Only thing is I wish they had portrayed the depths of poverty stannis raised me from so the audience would understand my devotion. Also, Stephen dillane as stannis was brilliant.
