    Default Grub problems

Alright, so I was recently merging some partitions that I accumulated over time and apparently Windows managed to anihilate my old Linux partition. So now, I cannot boot Windows because I get a grub error. I managed to boot it using the Super Grub disk but I cannot do it any other way. Any suggestions? I tried reinstalling Ubuntu but it still gives me the error, and I also tried to use a system repair disk...

It's likely to be caused by GRUB installed on MBR, and the fact that GRUB cannot work alone with MBR only - it stores some critical information in the linux partition which you wiped out. Hence destroying linux partition make your entire system unbootable.

What you should do now is to get Windows to restore the original MBR. Try this, or google about fixmbr or fixboot

Alright, fixmbr on my system repair disk worked, thanks!
Can I now just delete the Ubuntu partition that I made in hopes of getting everything working again and reinstall it, to be able to dual boot again?
