    furthermore, in most cases the general joins the battle to lead his soilders, not to fight himself in the thick of it, you really should keep your most important man out of the fighting - a general is supposed to win the battle by leading, not by slaying most men himself

    Thank you for your response, I'm glad that you're responding to the feedback given.

    I understand the reasoning behind your choice. A general wouldn't have lots of loyal retainers, I agree on that. And yes, they should be made to command most of the time. Look, I've always liked the way how many of these generals were able to slaughter lots of enemies, and maybe I wanted to replicate this in the game a bit too much. While I know that leading your generals into the thick of the battle is a very risky move to say the least, it was quite tempting for me to do so. Maybe these smaller bodyguards will keep me from doing that.

    Anyway, could you suggest some tactics to still make the bodyguard a valuable asset as a fighting unit? Maybe using them in combination with other troops, by flanking or holding positions? Thanks in advance.

    since most bodyguards are mounted lancers, they will deal a heavy blow even with only 13 men if you charge a unit in the rear
    you have to retreat immediately after the charge though
    i once defeated 2 units of bandits (some 400 men) with only 13 mounted dunedain, so you see, they still deal a punch

    those bodyguards that are not mounted have more men, and in case of dale or the silvan elves, can fight very well since they are archers, use those to kill the enemies elite units, dont waste them on the low ones, they have armour piercing arrows

    I think the bodyguards, specially the mounted is good as it is. Its a pain in the ass to try to kill the generals of Rhun or Harrad, thay seams always to survive as the last man and then flee. Hope you fix some missed units cards, Goblin infanetry, Uruk raidres, one loke kahn unit (think its the archers) and eoreld milita. (at least i think i got the names right) is some that have peasants as cards.

    And think i found a another bug, when some of my settlements as He is under siege by OmM and OoGB, they just retreat the round after, even though they are in far majority.

    hey this mod is really awesome but every time when i end the turn it crashes when it's eriador's turn except when i play as eriador

    yes it does happen from the first turn

    it's just a part of the log because the whole log has too many characters

    the only explanation that i can give is that you may have installed the patch the wrong way


    one good piece of news though: i am about 50% finished now with 2.0, we are getting closer

    my plans for 2.0:
    - heirs of isildur submod will be added
    - some new units will be added
    - most important and the most work: i am in the proces of revamping the complete AOR concept, in 2.0 you will need e.g enough elven culture as the elves to recruit foreign units, and no longer the culture of the faction you try to recruit the units from - this should provide a far more logical AOR system

    That spunds good whit the new culture setings. When I play now, im fighting mostly pessant units, hunters and other low tier units form all the faction. And you shuold take a look at Gondor. I played 3 campains now, and in all of then Gondor is getting spanked hard by Harad. Try to fight Harad now as HE and they have like 10 stacs in western Gondor, and it seems like it dosent mather how many i kill

    Hello there fightermedic,
    I've been playing this mod and I'm enjoying it a great deal, you did a really great job revamping frogs, the game now is so much better!
    But I have a question: is it normal for the culture o newly captured stettlements to stagnate? I've captured Dol Guldur with silvan elves for almost 20 turns and, build the culture bonus buildings and the elvish culture in Dol Guldor, and in any other settlements (the ones I had started also) doesn't rise! Is this normal? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    As a result of this, I only have 10% of elven culture in Dol Guldur and can't recruit NOTHING there.

    hi, i am glad you like the mod
    did you realize that the first cultural building does no longer rise culture? if you build the second building in the chain, culture should rise, though slowly, since changing the culture of a region should be a slow process
    (for that reason cultural requirements for recruiting units will be lower in some cases in 2.0, so that i doesn't take THAT long to recruit you own factions units, but you will need more faction to recruit foreign units)

    it is easier for one reason: the ai cheats less - I have reduced the stack spam a bit
    it should not be much easier though, on what difficulty are you playing?

    harad attacking mordor? well, thats cool with me if it happens in every 50th game or so, definitely not if it happens all the time - but this is the first time i hear of it (never had it myself)
    keep me updated how your campaign is progressing (screenshots of the campaign map are always welcome! (use toggle_fow in the console to remove the fog of war for that)

    note: i am as good as done with updating the EDB.txt - only some 20 units left on the way to 2.0!

    Hahah, the campaing is great, is the first time I play with Silvan Elves, maybe their gameplay is easier. Also, I always play on very hard. Isengar just destroyed Rohan (thats understandable, as AI doesn't know how to use cavalry). Dale is the second strongest faction, already destroyed Rhun, and the rest of the factions are holding their line. Myself, I just destroyed Anduin and I'm expanding through the mountains.
    Your submod is great, no doubt. Just posted that question because I usually play with Rohan, and when that happens, I get attacked at 3 fronts, I have units, no money, and have to kill Olog-Hai with scouts! haha
