With europa barbarorum the best mod for Rome Total War. Yes, realism in every possible way (armies, characters, etc). Ant it is funny too.
This....There may be more historical dedicated ( i can think only in EB and ill put RS2 in pair with RTR because i think both teams share or shared a lot of info), i have heard SPQR is more chalenging and that FGE, a submod of RS2, is very, very chalenging, but RS2 is an all rounder, it combines everything perfectly.
You have not download it yet ? 10, 9 ,8 ,7....
PS: It is not modfoldered, you will need a clean install of RTW just for RS2.

its possibly {and probably} the best mod ever
Have a look at the preview threads. Our main goal was to make everything as historically as possible while not making the gameplay suffer.

Huh? You can combine RS and EB? To work together? Or play them separatelly. Where can I find more details?
No, not together. You need to install it in separate folder. Just make a copy of your current RTW folder and install RS there.
Cheers for help but one more question, are all the new features such as governors and stuff complicated and if so is there a manual like in byg grims for m2tw?

It's worth noting that the latest version (v2.5) is in Open Beta and there are a few things to resolve - it is, however, possibly a lot better than 2.1a.
There has been a lot of testing in the last 6 months and many changes incorporated. An update, particularly for the Roman Campaign (the most complex) may appear soon(TM)
I am teasing out from the Team details on all the Traits (the most complex part of the changes - and what the Testers are working hardest on now) and there will ultimately be 'Guide to Traits & Ancillaries' that will be added to other people's work on 'General & Economic Handbooks' - but it will be a while.
If you like Vanilla RTW - then you'll love the differences! I fell in love not long after first downloading it.![]()
No manual. (i personally needed too a manual in my first campaigns).

ive never play m2tw but if its anything like vanilla rtw coming to rs2 might be a but overwhelming at first at least for me it was. the trait unit and buildings systems are much more in depth which imo more enjoyable than vanilla. the team put a large emphasis into historical accuracy and offers you a chance to see how a roman government might work or information regarding an ancient trade route which i love.
there is no manual but this might help u understand some of the traits http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=527894
if youre having trouble with your campaign this is dated and some of it is probably no longer accurate but it might help http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=396194
additionally if u need any help or information just ask![]()
Please read the FAQ folks, it does answer questions like these. If it doesn't let me or a local moderator know the question you want in the FAQ and we'll add it.
