Creating "pike dragoons"?

I`ve been trying to create a new unit, pike dragoons, which would as the name suggests be dragoons that dismount to fight with pikes instead of muskets. But I can`t get them to use their pikes properly. Whatever I try they either just use swords or they try to use their pikes on horseback with messy results. The closest I could get was a unit that fought with swords both mounted and on foot. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks for the link, that looks like a great tweak that I'd like to try out, but i don't think it will fix my issue. See, for the purpose of this thread, "using pikes" includes when they're just holding their pikes up and fighting with a sword. I just can't get them to switch between fighting on horseback with swords and using pikes on foot, even if they don't use them properly
