Which Faction: Ghaznavids or Sindh?
Hi there!
First: I really love this mod and played it since its release and i am happy to play such a great game, thank you!
I installed BC yesterday again on my PC, but i had no idea which faction i should take. I played a long Rajput and a long Oman Campaign in the past and i tried other factions too. My two favorites now are the Ghaznavids and Sindh. I really like their cultures and units. But which one is more interesting to play?
Also i have no idea how to play with them, the Sindh have no elephants against their Hindu neighbours and the Ghaznavids have neither Elephants nor mass Infantry against Hindus and Ghorid Ghazi armies. So how to play with them? I hope you can help me!

I always like playing as the little guys aka factions that start out small. I would recommend sindh, you can gain an alliance with the ghaznavids easily... and then maybe start a war with the ghurids. Or take some boats and assault the hindus in central india. Secure as many rebel regions as possible to the north of your starting position, do not sack them until you have your ghazni alliance. Ghazni is a more stressful campaign

they are wedged in between the chauhans, ghurids and sindh. You could make it easier with an early alliance with the sindh

actually I played ghazni a day or so ago... it was really easy. The ghurids did not attack me, neither did the chauhans. After a few turns they practically begged me for an alliance (after making me fork out a few thousand) meaning that I could destroy any of the 3 bordering factions at will (none of them were allied with one another) without worrying about their neighbours. Wiped out the the sindh, then went for the chauhans and solanki as there was no threat of attack from the ghurids
ghazni has the big advantage of elephant and heavy cavalry spam making battles easy as well

Sindh is easy as well. You can safely play 100 turns without being attacked. Just make alliances, obtain trade rights, take 2 nearest settlements quick, then build up your economy, gather some wealth, build your army, and go!

yes you can just ally with the ghurids and ghazni then do as you please... might try a new campaign as them and invade central india with a naval force. Should be interesting

i liked playing as kwarezm until there was huge seljuk empire but now playing as them is just taking rebels. i like playing ghazni because of their units. they look beautiful, shinning armors and things like that. and their campaign is quite challengable because you are at war with ghurids if you do not accept a peace treaty soon they will attack

that is to make them more interesting, you could easily get a free allaince with the ghurids if you want but then you would spend the next 30 turns killing rebels... which is as fun as watching paint dry

When I tried a Ghazni campaign, it started out pretty well with me. I wasn't able to improve my infastructure or recruit proper troops, but the council kept donating me elephant units, so I was able to steamroll Ghorid lands with them. I had conquered half of the Ghorid state, until I stopped playing the campaign and updated BC.
