Re: whats your setup?
Well if I have the coin, my Roman 'Polybian Legion' setup is always 1 general, 5 hastatus, 5 princeps, 4 triarii, 2 archers/velites depending if the opposing army has elephants or not, and three cavalry units. Post-Marian is always 1 general, 1 legionary first cohort, 13 legionary cohorts, two archers/light infantry auxilia, and three cavalry units.

Re: whats your setup?
I like to use 3 hastati, 3 princeps, 3 triarii, a general two cavelry. this to give me a Centre, right and left flank. the general takes the centre and the a cavelry unit each flank. tho i still use the foot soilders in a two deep line, hastatii, then principes then triarii and cavalry. i will charge my hastatii into their front to begin fixing them into battle, then the principes to support the hastiti, i will send each triarii that is on the flanks forward sheilding their cavelry unit following close behind. if the enemy arnt attacking the flanks i will engage thiers with the triarii, then send the cavalry forward to swing around to lanks.
If i add artillary units to my fights i lack good tactics, i seem to do more harm to everything but the enemy, especialy scorpions.
