    Default Game won't rememeber my keyboard settings

    So I'm having this problem that my game refuses to remember what keyboard controls I use every time I open it. It always just resets to the default upon starting the game up fresh. It's really annoying because I like to use FPS style controls rather than RTS, and it keeps unticking the "manage all settlements" option every time I load a game.

    Another issue that is probably related is that the game doesn't close properly. I always have to manually end Launcher.exe after exiting the game.

    I haven't played this game in a few years, but I thought I remembered having this problem before and someone having a fix for it. Anyone have any ideas?

    Where did you get the game?

    Post your dxdiag.

    I don't remember which files controls keyboard settings but when you find it set it to read-only.

    This is the Steam version of the game. How do I post my dxdiag, I didn't see a sticky about it. Also, I thought that the folder that controls keyboard settings was medieval2.preference, which I already set to read only.

    For Medievl2, disable the UAC http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to...-in-windows-7/ if not already done so will help this old XP game.

    If not done so, tking ownership of your harddrive starting with the C: drive icon http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=397636 will help a lot.

    Try updating the graphics drivers at www.amd.com as your are still 2010.

    Try updating the High Definition audio codecs at www.realtek.com.tw as yours are the same ones released with Win7 in 2009.

    Run Windows Update manually and install all software options.

    The first two will help with how the game is written. The second two will help your gaming experience. The last will help your Windows experience.

    The first two may hep with your keyboard shortcuts, too.
