Default Just bought a new rig

Hey guys, I just ordered my first real gaming PC and I was wondering how smoothly it can run vanilla Shogun 2 and Medieval II/Rome mods?

    Palit GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 cores (1280MB GDDR5)
    2x 4GB 1333MHz DDR3
    ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 DDR3 ATX
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" SATA3 7.2k 32MB
XFX 550W PRO Core Edition ATX 80+ Bronze
    Cooler Master Silencio 450
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

It will depend a lot on your monitor resolution, and fps and eyecandy expectations.

Well can I for example run normal sized battles on high settings (without AA) on 1920x1080 resolution with FPS higher than 30 in Shogun 2?

You have a chance until melee and I bet any zooming in, you're back down to 10 or less. Everything goes through one core of your cpu. Multicore support for Shogun2 is for all intents and prrposes nonexistent.

M2 and RTW are too old to fully use a 1gb card and everything including the kitchen sink goes through one core of your cpu.

Hmm, that's too bad. I hope CA's next TW game has better multicore support.

As long as you don't do view close ups too much you'll be fine. I only play close ups early in campaign where there are few units on battles. Mid to late campaign when full stack vs full stack then it's a no-no.
