    Default belgariad mod: interest?

    so i'm re-reading one of my favorite fantasy series of all time, the belgariad by david eddings, and i thought it'd make a great mod of m2:tw. i saw that someone tried to make this awhile ago, but it seems like nothing came of it. i'm completely new to modding total war games, but i have some experience as a programmer and image editor. i've done a little digging so far, and it seems like i can get at least something basic (not high-graphics, but playable) more-or-less on my own, and so i'm going for it. please respond with:

    1) would you want to play this if i made this? your interest would help motivate me when i inevitable get stuck on things.

    2) would you like to help me make this? i'm not going to be able to devote a ton of time to this, so having other people on board might make it go faster. however, i understand if others wouldn't want to take their time to work with a newb on a project ultimately just for fun.

    Would you be so kind to elaborate on that series, and what you would like to focus on? a specific aspect perhaps?

    I suppose you'll also take the Mallorean and the few three other side books into account eh??
    To start of, you could just borrow other peoples units and make a simple strat-map just to get things rolling

    the wikipedia article's a good place to get the background. i think, at least for now, i'll stick with the western continent and leave mallorea alone, with an eye to add that in future versions. i'll be taking material from all 13 books (belgariad series, mallorean series, belgarath, polgara, and rivan codex).

    @baerke, that's my first step, essentially. keep the basic units or borrow from other mods, build a map and the basics of the factions, and advance from there. that should get something at least basically playable to start with.

    any suggestions on how do work the factions, specifics of the map, etc., are welcome.

    Not really.. I'm no modder myself so I can't really answer any questions to be honest.
    Ask in the workshop if you need anything eh, make a thread there etc if you run into trouble. I'm sure they'll help you out
