    Default Shortcut problem! Going crazy

    I really need some help guys! recently i turned on my comp and suddenly all my shorcuts to prgrams stopped working. i dont know what the hell is wrong. creating newe shortcuts dont work and all of them has lost the display picture or icon. whenever i double click on them it doesnt go into the program but cuts it. this is really frustrating! I NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE!

    You probably have spyware or a virus. Explain in more detail what happens when Windows loads.

    I have had this problem a few times before. I just restart and it usually fixes it. Have you tried?

    What do you mean by "cuts in"? I've never had a problem like this so I'm not sure what to tell you unfortunately.

    you know how you cut things and paste it somehwer else? thats what happens when i double click on a shortcut. I've had this thing for a long time. i was going to call a tech guy but decided to go and ask here first.

    Try this:

    Go to www.dougknox.com, click on WindowsXP Fixes, then on File Association Fixes. Download and run the .lnk (shortcut) fix, see if that helps.

    If not, try the .exe fix as well.
