Default Blue screen, other display problems

Lately, I've been getting blue screens. About 3 this week.

It always says, windows has shut down your system to prevent damage.

It also mentions that it has to do with display drivers.

So I dl'd new drivers, uninstalled old, rebooted. Installed new drivers, rebooted.
About 15 minutes in, same blue screen.

Also, when playing a youtube video, the screen turned a manilla/vanilla color then came back but the youtube video display was green, though the sound was still playing. An error message popped up and said something about error with display, but I couldnt read it all before it went away.

Since the first occurence I have been able to play games, but now every time I go to start one up, my system blue screens. I scanned the entire system for virus, update everything and cannot find the problem.

    Alienware.

it's the display driver. nvidia users are experiencing lately problems with drivers. sometimes pink dots appear on screen, sometimes it's just the driver that crashes. you can't do much about that cause they haven't found the problem yet. just google nvidia kernel driver has stopped responding and you will find some small fixes that won't make the problem go away but can make it appear less frequently. what comes in my mind right now is disable aereo, go to nvidia control panel, on global 3d settings set the power management option to "prefer maximum performance". Also the most stable driver right now is the 296.10 driver.
How do I know this? A couple of my friends have this problem and it seems many many others on the internet are reporting the same thing. Although my gtx 460 is still going strong without a single problem.

It's a shame really cause Nvidia was known for their good drivers but lately have ed up things

I have ati 6950 hd series so I'm not dealing with an Nvidia card.

Also, my temps seem to be normal around 60 C.

Would be glad to post dxdiag, how do i do that?
