Default Unit not holding formation, and walking away soldiers?

I recently got a problem with rome total war, which happens with two mods for me!
Firstly- I made a clean install in a new folder, than 1.5 patch, than eb 1.1 then 1.2.

So my problem is that when I play a battle and order my troops into a formation, they will use it nicely in deployment state, but when I start the battle, and order them to go somewhere, they screw up the formation!
So lets say for example this is the line formation with 4 units at the start: ---- But then when I order my troops to go somewhere and they arrive, the formation looks like this: -_-_ (I hope you understand my example).
I've noticed that those units who fall behind, their general and other officer soldiers are staying in the position where they are meant to be, but the soldiers are staying behind so like this, I can't use my hoplites normally because they cant stay in a single line!

This "problem" happens with every formations, not just single line formation.

The other thing, is that when I order my troops to charge an enemy unit, they are doing what I say, but after the charge some soldiers from that unit, walking away from the battle, towards an another enemy unit which is far away and haven't encountered yet!

By the way, I've had the Rome Total Realism mod, where I didn't experienced the problem. After that I installed Rome Surrection mod where I had experienced the problem first. So this was the reason I've deleted it, then I installed this mod, but it has this problem now too!
Every time I install a mod, I'm doing a full uninstall, then delete the game folder, and then installing the new mod!

Any suggestion how to resolve this problem, or is there anyone else who experienced something like this?

    Thanks in advance!

I remember that ... do I remember how to get around it .... I *think* it's holding Control when you click to have them move that maintains the formation when they get there. Been too long since I've played, really.

Something else you could try is holding Right-click and dragging the formation so you can see the arrows on the ground and making sure the formation is set up the way you want.

Frankly, I don't recall having all that many problems with it. I mean, it's crop up once in a while, but it wouldn't be an 'every battle' thing. Then again, I had this problem with Vanilla Rome.

Can't say I remember this problem ... might be the "May Attack Without Orders" quality, but it might not. Keep them in Defensive mode and they shouldn't run off.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

I've uploaded a video, of the formation problem to see what I'm talking about! As you can see in the video, I pressed the shift+4 sorted double line formation, and it shows with red arrows where they should stay, but two unit not doing it right. Only their officer units standing in the right position.
Even if I hit the formation button again, they just moving forward a bit, but not getting into formation.

    Here's the video:

I noticed yesterday, (but only had one try) that this problem occurs when they had to run to a position!

Of course hold position is selected always because thats the way I use my hoplites always! So I don't know why they doing that walking away thing.

I've had a problem in RTW sometimes (as well as in M2TW) where when I order a unit to do something, the soldiers start to move away in all directions towards the map edges and the unit just disperses (It's like they are thinking: "oh there probably isn't any fight today, let's all just leave" )

The glitch has only happened in a siege assault so far.

Thats somewhat like my problem, but I've never experienced this in M2TW.

It happens sometimes. Seen it in the SS mod.

The formation thing for me always happens if you run units when they are in groups. I don't know if this is unique for me, but i have found it the most consistent

Try to always walk units in a group when you are setting them up, or prepare to do it more manually. Hope that helps your problem

The other one i don't really understand what you mean, but i have had units walking like described (not very often though). Don't know what causes it
