The Triumph of Sextus Tuccius Alexander

[General Brewster]

The streets of Rome where full of people who them self where filled of joy with the return of victorious Sextus Tuccius Alexander. His victory over Numidia shall go down trough the ages with his heroic defense of Carthage!

The day is first filled with a parade of Sextus with the slaves he captured. then Jugurtha will follow him. the end of the day will be held in the Gladatorial school of Maximus Ceasonius where Julius Ceasonius holds a game of death with Jugurtha as conclusion of the day.

[The Stig]

"Forward!" yelled Sextus from atop his elephant, his out stretched arm pointing down the road with his sword. It was a hot day, and he had been forced to postpone the parade until mid afternoon. Even so, he was still sweating heavily under his battle gear. Similar to standard Roman armor, save for a few touches of his own, the large piece of cloth and metal seemed determined to cook Sextus alive. No matter, he was used to heat. He'd stomach it until the return to his villa. He sat back down on his elephant, taking in the luxuries he had lavished upon it. A vast purple, silken sheet covered its back, with a few cushions for the handler and himself. Flanking him on either side were the lictors, mounted on horseback but just as opulently adorned. Following them was his legions, the Mercurii and Tuccii. Both composed of Tuccii caravan guards hardened by years of desert warfare, they had yet another chance to prove their worth in the war with Numidia. Dressed in their uniforms of purple and gold, a contrast to the normal Roman red, they cut a dashing figure to the plebs lining the street on either side. Upon the purple banners of the Tuccii and Mercurii there was inscribed a golden elephant and caduceus, respectively. After his legions the cavalry of Caesoninus marched, their heads held high. Behind them came the regular legions of the Senate, and after them the pro-consular forces. Occupying the very last spot in the huge line were the Senatorial auxiliaries. As his words died on the air, the whole gathering of warriors took one great step forward and the Triumph began.

[The Stig]

The grand procession made its way down the streets of Rome, stopping at each temple to make a sacrifice, followed all the while by hordes of cheering plebeians. Sextus was still hot, but at least a breeze was coming through as the afternoon began to die. Stopping first at the great temple of Jupiter, Sextus watched as the blood of an ox was spilt onto the altar. He heard his voice cry out to the assembled crowd. "To Jupiter, father of the Gods, for the strength he has granted us, making possible the great triumph that is Rome itself!" At the temple of Mars Sextus saw a statue of a sword, forged from the melted down weapons of Rome's enemies. "To Mars, God of War, for the taste of victory we so favor!" For Mercury, Sextus gave a large chest of gold coins. "To Mercury, lords of roads and travel, for safe journeys and glorious destinations!" With the business at the temple finished, the parade's course turned towards the gladiatorial ring. Sextus let out a sign of relief. At least he could get out of this blasted armor. It was starting to smell.

[The Stig]

Sextus inhaled deeply, drinking in the cool night air. A light breeze ruffled his hair as he stepped towards the large opening at the end of the hall. The procession had arrived at the ring a short time ago and Sextus was busied with preparing himself for the games. Jugurtha and his Numidians would battle to the death in the area for the amusement of the Romen people. It was glorious. The sun was starting to sink towards the horizon, casting a slight red light over everything. Sextus could not even hear, so loud were the plebs, cheering and calling his name. He would not disapoint them. He left the hall, surrounded by the cool night air as the screams rose to a crescendo. The games would soon begin and Sextus looked about to find Caesonius, whom he was supposed to sit near. Glad to be out of that incredibly stuffy armor, Sextus sat down with a broad smile on his face. It had been a good day.

Julius accompanies Sextus ti the balcony and shows him his seat.

Citizens and Senators of Rome!
We are here for a game of Blood & Honor! Witness Jugurtha from Numidia!

Under load scream Jugurtha enterd the ring hungry shaken and chained.

To face him is the champion of the Gladiator house, give a load applaud for Tuci as Murmillo!

The crowd breaks out in screaming as bread is being thrown to them and Tuci enters the ring in his shiny new armor.

Sextus if you please give the begin signal.

Aquila took the raised dictator's chair by Sextus and Julius. "Sorry I'm late."

[The Stig]

Sextus nods to Aquila as he stands to begin the event. He slowly steps towards the balcony in front of their seats, greeted instantly by deafening cheers. After a solid minute of noise and jubilation, the crowd dies down and Sextus opens his mouth to address them.

"People of Rome! I have ventured to far off lands to bring you the show you are about to see! The deceitful Jugurtha, lord of the Numidians has been crushed by our glorious legions! Witness now, the fate of all who would defy Rome! He shall meet his death in battle against our fiercest warriors, all for the viewing pleasure of you, Roman people! The coward you are about to see take the field thought he would plunder and burn our lands, returning them to savagery and barbarism, but our great armies were there to stop him! We chased him from our strongholds and followed him until he surrendered in despair! Enjoy yourselves, people of Rome, for it is a gift from your legions that brought you here today! Let the games begin!"
