Default The Final Frontier Re-Development Thread

    Dear all,

In the hopes of developing a much improved version of the Final Frontier RPG, I have created this thread for all those interested in contributing toward the development of an overhaul of the Star Trek RPG. Unlike last time, this time we will not rush anything, but, as others suggested, we will plan things much more thoroughly.

A note to mods: if you close this subforum, please move this thread into another subforum.

I think we should begin our discussion with what was good about the last RPG and what was bad. What did you guys enjoy and what did you guys hate?

    How To.

The most important thing is to make sure everyone knows what they are doing and how they do it. If we want to pull in people who aren't just hardcore trekkies we need to make it more accessible for the more relaxed people.

Agreed. So perhaps in terms of setting, we should try to distance ourselves as much as possible from canon (e.g., future timeline, alternate timeline in an alternate universe, mirror universe).

Agreed. If there is one lesson to learn from TOS, it is that we need more females in general. You should see my bridge officers in Star Trek Online; they are all females, as is the captain.

I wouldn't mind using the Star Trek Online Timeline. This gives us a premade timeline that is both distant from Canon, yet near enough to have references everyone knows.
