"You gotta hear this one song - it'll change your life." - Sam, from the movie Garden State, commenting on "New Slang"

Oh, Inverted World is the first and currently only released album from the Indie Rock band The Shins. A second album is scheduled for release in October of this year.

3. "Weird Divide" - 1:58
4. "Know Your Onion!" - 2:29
5. "Girl Inform Me" - 2:21
6. "New Slang" - 3:51 (Links to live performance)
7. "The Celibate Life" - 1:51
8. "Girl on the Wing" - 2:50
9. "Your Algebra" - 2:23
10. "Pressed in a Book" - 2:55
11. "The Past and Pending" - 5:24

Right now is probably your last chance to become a Shins fan before everybody in the world is. They owe much of their recent exposure to the actor/writer Zach Braff, who has had their songs accompanying him in his role in Scrubs and he also featured two of their tracks on his movie Garden State. Both the Scrubs and Garden State soundtracks feature The Shins.

Oh, Inverted World, received critical acclaim upon its release and you cannot do better for fantastically mellow indie rock. Their sound is influenced by 60s sunshine pop, such as The Beach Boys. I cannot stop playing this album currently.
