    Default Volume issues

Hey guys, I came back today at my PC after having dinner and saw a black screen saying one or more devices weren't working anymore. Before deciding something was broken, I decided to reinstall my OS to see if it might be software/driver related (I back-up important documents).

As it turned out, this was the case as I now have a functional PC again (the entire purge does clean up a lot of trash ). However a new problem has arisen. I just use a headset for sound as my speakers are broken and I don't really need them that much anyway. Before the reinstall I always put the headset in the headset/mic audio jacks but now these jacks dont work anymore. When I look at playback- or recording devices, I see the headset/mic icons disappearing and reappearing rapidly nonstop. I also have speaker audio jacks on the back of my PC, but when I put them in there the sound of applications (internet including) will constantly go up and down. If I put the sound of an application at 100%, it'll go up and down between 20% and 100% all the time making gaming or listening to music not very enjoyable.

If anyone knows what might've gone wrong, I'd be grateful.

Did you reinstall the motherboard drivers including the sound ones?

Turned out I made some mistake, a friend came by and he rolled back the driver and then installed it correctly for me. Sorry for the thread, my problem has been solved.
