Default Problems with Unrest in Barbarian Invasion (Campus Chatii)

    Hello Folks,
I've got a problem with unrest in one of my towns (Campus Chatii) in the saxon campaign of Barbarian Invasion. It stays constantly at 30% since I conquered it. The usual reasons (spies, religion, incompetent gov. etc.) don't seem to apply. However I made a short Video to explain my problem since it seems a bit complicated.

You'll find the video here on YT.

Maybe you guys have encountered the same problem.
    Please excuse my german accent.
    Thanks for your help

I am no expert on this type of thing, maybe you should continue to develop and build up the town and see if that helps.
At least the town is green nowhere near revolt.

Let it revolt, re-capture and exterminate.

Edit: Just watched your video, now I understand what you're asking. Unrest is common with cities you've just captured, it might just disappear after 10-15 turns. Also, it is present in almost every city, and is based on the ratio of the city's population and 'law'.

Basically, the best buildings for improving law in a settlement are the buildings that move the settlement to the next stage, e.g. imperial palace while playing as a Roman Faction. Also, buildings that are used to train troops such as barracks and stables significantly reduce unrest. Furthermore, enemy spies can be a huge factor in public order, especially if they have high subterfuge. The traits of family members that are placed in a city can also have an effect, E.G. a general with the 'honest' trait reduces unrest.

If public order is going to be an issue while doing these things, move in some troops, or recruit town militias while you work on unrest.

    Hey guys,
Thank you for your answers, but as shown in the Video I can almost exclude those possible reasons for unrest - at least to a degree of 99%, i guess. But let me please give you some answers on the suggestions:
@Drustan: this is a really good guide to avoiding unrest in settlements that you wrote and I highly appreciate that. I can exclude the following causes:
    - recently captured: I hold this settlement for about 50 turns.
    - enemy spies: I had seven spies in that town for 20 towns. The most spies were trained enough to discover enemy spies.
    - family members: there are no family members in the settlement.
    - re-capture the settlement: I tried that, but the unrest stopped dropping again when it reached 30%.
    - development: The town has almost all buildings except the blacksmith and the cav stables. However, I will giv it a shot, but it seems nearly impossible to me that those buildings could reduce the 30% (!!!) unrest.

Anyway: Thank you very much for the suggestions and hopefully we'll figure out another way to clear the unrest in Campus Chatii. However, it seems like a bug to me.
    Best regards,
    Günther

I believe that farms cause unrest, and that is why some people don't even build any.
    I can't think of anything.

Nope, they make the population grow faster which can make it harder to manage.

And they can't be destroyed, meaning that the problem will never go away.

Which means you can carry out the cycle of watching it grow, letting it revolt and exterminating, each time making you a healthy profit.

I don't understand why people think that farms are really bad. They really give the player an edge over neighboring factions IMO.

It's too unrealistic too have to slaughter your towns every 5 ing turns. That's why.

Thank you for your Help guys. I could, however, not manage to get back to normal public order, but I tried out the tipp from rye8111.
Apparently it seems to work pretty good. It's also fantastic how easy it is to controll the population growth just by not building any farms.

Yeh on vanilla in BI as the western empire I control pretty much all the historical roman empire controlled from like Britain to Arabia. I have 3-4 armies going around specifically for exterminating cities because they constantly seem to go to red. I haven't ever heard that idea about the farms yet; I'll have to try it out. Religious unrest is pretty annoying as well so I always try to make sure all cities are the same religion and my faction leader shares said religion. The constant unrest does bug me slightly as I agree with ccgr1121 that having to exterminate your towns constantly is unrealistic and annoying, but it also adds an extra challenge to the game as I always have the possibility of civil war. If not building farms is a surefire way to control population growth that's great; only wish I could destroy the ones I built! Anyone have any other ideas about how to deal with unrest other than constant extermination?

You could do a little modding and make farms destroyable, then change it back.
