Default OFFICIAL: The Creative Assembly will not feature at E3 2012

The Creative Assembly will not feature at E3 this year so unless there is an announcement by Sega about a new Total War game then it will not be until after E3 that we hear something, it could even be next year's E3 that we hear something.

Why has the whole forum got itself into such a fuss then - do CA usually announce a TW game this time of year?

They announced it in May the last time.

The game should come out later this year or early next year.

There's a lot of video game conventions and such around this time of year.

That's why everyone is in such a fuss.

I guess since they aren't announcing the next game at e3 means that it will be announce in the very near future or way after.

Think about it, maybe CA is actually taking their time on this to create a new engine that might be moddable. This may be the game we all have been waiting for.

What ever it might be however, it will mostly likely be a much more modern total war that we have never seen. Most likely a Victoria or World War 1.

This would be utilizing the features introduced in Fots like railroads, naval bombardments, fast rifles, etc. Also using another world map that will be seperated to the territories of the time to create the most epic game ever to be produced.

Not only would this type of game be a great addition to the total war community but bring in a whole lot of new buyers form people who like that kind of period.

If Rome 2 was in development, you would need to retexture, recreate animations, indroduce the shields, naval combat, and create all the factions to take up the map. Can't just have rebels anymore to represent all the different factions.

Rome 2 however will might just come in as well due to the many things having to happen to create a world style map. This is becuase a world scale map will have to represent all the different culture and take very long to perfect which will end up being another empire.

It might not even be any of these things and maybe a whole new era will be introduce that has not been foreseen.

Only time will tell as what will happen. Let's try not to keep our hopes up however becuase what we wish will probely not happen.

Translation is pretty much that SEGA EU is closing all its studio's, focussing on mobile/digital gaming etc and their PC/console gaming divions will go to America/Asia.

Het gerucht vertelt verder dat Creative Assembly, de ontwikkelaar van de Total War-serie, tijdens de E3 nog een grote game gaat aankondigen, wat tevens de laatste game is van Sega Europe.

BUT ALSO it says the rumor is that CA will announce their new TW game at E3 as the last game being made in europe.

I know I said previously that I thought CA/SEGA wouldn't do anything about total war at E3 but this site is pretty thrustworthy from my experience, although its still rumors ofcourse

So CA will probely pack up and leave to America? It would be really awesome if they set up shop right in my city but that highly unlikely.

Why would sega close down their entire EU studios?

Prolly can't afford to just cut them loose. Wouldn't surprise me if they sell their rights to someone else like EA though. If they can do that.

You can't trust itw about studios future. Sega could close their European branch whatever they say now. It would be logical but awful fire them to rely only on Japan and America.
My only hope is that CA could become independant, since sega CA had became more and more greedy, releasing more and more stupid dlc only to make cash.
I hope EA won't gain them origin is a bloody mess.

I think it would be extremely stupid from SEGA to close down all their European studios and I don't see that very plausible to happen. I remember reading an article not very long ago that Sega will focus more on a few game franchises, mainly Total War and Football Manager. They are Sega's top selling titles in Western markets so it would be incredibly short-sighted to close those studios.

Anyway, back to the topic, I remember that Empire:TW was announced not in E3 but in late Summer 2007. So if CA isn't taking part in E3 it doesn't mean that they couldn't announce next TW title later this year. There are many occasions coming later this year where they could do that.

According to Gamekyo Sega doesn't plan to develop more so-called "AAA games" for consoles. Instead, the emphasis would be placed on digital games in the download area - primarily for mobile and tablet games.
What's more, Sega's "last great" game will be shown at E3, which is developed by Creative Assembly.
Sega has not commented on the report.

And I bet it will be located in europe.

Don't compare TW s¨¦rie with FIFA, one is PC only the other is multi platform who sells 30X more. The last 3 years, i mean the pos steam era, with DLCs to fulfill half-games realise, lack of total mod conversion possibility ,to not disturb the DLCs sells, all the lies and and delays about it etc.they lost my trust and my faith in their capacity .They let the brand die. After games like Rome or M2 who had and still have a almost infinit longevity, the new games shows how short they are, one or two months before go to the shelter. The damage are made , nothing, this ridiculous battle map editor for example , will bring back the most part of old fans , people who loved this games before empire just don't believe in nothing that they could made or say, the games are not the same ones, and for many reasons ,I don't like the last games.

I have to say I agree. After Medieval II and it's expansion there has been little for me to enjoy. I bought all the newer games and their DLC's but they get boring quickly.
