You could probably make them but they'd probably have to take the place of the other units (unit leader, etc)...I don't think you could add them in addition to them.

You probably want to ask a question like this in the Mod Workshop. But yeah, as Chris said, you could probably replace the officers in a unit with drummers, though I don't know anything about actually creating the unit models. It would look pretty awkward though if they were charging into battle with their drums. Perhaps you could create a new unit of guys with musical instruments that increased the morale of nearby units, similar to druids from RTW.

I was thinking about just this today.

Seems quite logical to modify the concept of druids to be morale-raising battlefield drummers/musicians.

It also adds a cool idea, such as being able to change the music script to add your own 'song', and a Special Ability function.

Leave their combat capability similar to seige troops (trebuchets, etc). Good morale but terrible in battle against professional troops.

Making new animations will be a pain in the ass though.

It's possible via modding, i think krieg mod had done this already.

Are they functioning with animations and such?

Most probably otherwise wouldn't make sense in adding a drummer that can't drum.

    Well...Aesthetic appeal over function...

But in any case, that's cool.
