Cant Install

I placed the first disk in, but it dosent give me the choice to instal. I tried looking for the game, but its not on my laptop.

Try to go to control panel/add-remove programs and search game there...

If you have Vista or Win 7, unhide all files and folders, then search.

I installed manually and was able to delete the previous files that were still on. I tried playing and everything seems fine, but for some reason the heroic victories icons are not showing up on the map.

I'm having a similar problem.

My copy of RTW Gold (1 DVD disc) won't install,

After i select the language and continue installation it tells me that it found an older version of the game and asks me to uninstall it.

I have removed RTW previously (cant remember exactly how long ago) using control pannel, i used a cleaner to clean all my drives and the registry. Then used Regedit to remove The Creative Assembly folders related to RTW from HKEY_Local_Machine and HKEY_CurrentUsers. Followed by restarting my computer.

Yet I still get the same message in the exact same area.

I cant find any files related to the game, where should i be looking, could i install an older version of the game than the one i have and uninstall that, though i do not see how tat could fix it....

No idea what to do, would like to install gold so tat i can go ahead and install EB...

any ideas?

As my post earlier will tell you, I have already used REGEDIT, deleted all of my files and folders that i could find related to RTW.

Then used a cleaner to do its thing, as well as clearing the registry that way.

Yet even after restarting my computer once doing all this, I still am unable to install Gold due to the older version which apparently is still lurking in my computer somewhere

Why couldn't this game have just come with an uninstall option in the launcher, or jus simply OVERWRITE the old ones....

Did you get the entries that could be in the Installshield folder? They got me a couple of times on other programs.

Okay, looked inside the InstallShield Information folder and all of its subfolders, could not find anything related to SEGA, Creative Assembly or RTW....

I'm runing out of names.

Have you had Shogun and Medieval install at anytime? These are the first ones.

Again checked all the names you listed, still nothing related to RTW.

I own Shogun Total war, but nvr got it to work on vista/windows 7 (installed it onto my old computer) but do not have Medieval TW.

I have Medieval Total War 2 installed (installed again last night to see if i would get similar error) and it plays fine.

So why is RTW, in a word, STUBBORN ? lol

Shogun Total War was originially published by Electric Arts before CA signed with Activision. I had the disc and box with the EA label on it. Possibly another one to check.

Guess i really have to wait for EB 2 then, good thing its on Kingdoms...

When does it come out though, are they still very much in dev stage with no release date?
