The rank of civitate is the highest honor that a lowly forum dweller can hope to achieve. It is a storied rank, and should the council see fit to vote me in, one that I would uphold with the utmost commitment. A civitate should respect other members, portray cogent thought, and above all, contribute meaningfully to the Total War center community. I feel that my posting record shows that I am on a path of accomplishing all of these things.

As a civitate, I plan to continue posting in a positive fashion that does not consist of ad hominem, while avoid trolling and flaming. I will also recognize my newfound responsibility by actively assisting newer members in the help forums, or just by answering any questions that I come across to the best of my ability in any forum. This is an extremely important function of the civitate, as they are the elders of the site, and are best equipped to ease new members into the fold.

The power that I would wield in the Curia is another responsibility that I would honor greatly. The ability to fundamentally alter the government of the Total War Center is not something to be taken lightly, and will be a serious undertaking for me. Should I be allowed to enter the Curia, look forward to much meaningful debate on new bills and fundamental concepts.

I know that I have a reputation for being a bit of a prankster, but I can assure you that this is unwarranted. While it’s true that in my early days at TWC, I had a tendency to write “joke posts.” I can attest that this phase has been over for quite a time, and was merely part of my maturation at this fine web site. I still post the occasional humorous thread, but they are always respectful, and are written to make a point about a subject. I’ve even recently started a thread on the analysis and study of satire, something that I hope clears up any ambiguity in my objectives. I am also nourishing a budding ability for serious debate, as can be evidenced in my posts in the threads Stalinism: My Beliefs, WWII Shooters from the Axis perspective, Ann Coulter: Is she for real?, and Democratic Socialism: Your Beliefs. I put a lot of time and effort into these posts, and I almost always double check Wikipedia for factual accuracy.

Thank you very much for you consideration and time. Should I be elected to the civitateship, I plan to uphold my position with great responsibility and honor in a style that reflects very well on my patron and the Total War Center Forums.
The fellow is most sincere, and I think he'd make a great civitate. He is a clever and likeable chap, and a paragon of pleasant decorum. I'm still somewhat amazed that he didn't get through the first time, although I can somewhat understand that he can give a misleading impression in his more satirical posts.

I'm not exactly sure what your procedure is these days for when the votes take place. What's the deal?

    Cheers,

    Nihil

Personally I favour this, this time round; threads like this and this along with such posts as this and this show that he has either matured or has dropped the satire, which in itself is in a way maturing. Plus he is clean and has remained clean.

[Yes, I double posted; my opinion is not part of the application]

To soon, like I said last time he is really intelligent but I am not sure. I was hoping for a longer period of reflection on his character.

I will be swayed by others opinions on this one, if everyone feels he is worthy then I will not vote against him, I will probably abstain.

Evariste has a matter of fact style of talking, but his ability to take different stances on issues and take diverse perspectives is unusual. I was really dissapointed he did not pass first time around, I always watch for his CC posts.

I am convinced he would be a great new energy in the Curia and give him my full support.

I will post a poll today.

In previous polls, Evariste was on the cusp for me. Now, I think he will do well. Not sure about the maturing bit, but I think he has adapted suffciciently. Yes.

Voted against. His overall attitude isn't one I like (granted, I like it more now than I do when I read his old posts) and he often borders on trolling. We can do better for civitate.
