The rank of civitate is the highest honor that a lowly forum dweller can hope to achieve. It is a storied rank, and should the council see fit to vote me in, one that I would uphold with the utmost commitment. A civitate should respect other members, portray cogent thought, and above all, contribute meaningfully to the Total War center community. I feel that my posting record shows that I am on a path of accomplishing all of these things.
As a civitate, I plan to continue posting in a positive fashion that does not consist of ad hominem, while avoid trolling and flaming. I will also recognize my newfound responsibility by actively assisting newer members in the help forums, or just by answering any questions that I come across to the best of my ability in any forum. This is an extremely important function of the civitate, as they are the elders of the site, and are best equipped to ease new members into the fold.
The power that I would wield in the Curia is another responsibility that I would honor greatly. The ability to fundamentally alter the government of the Total War Center is not something to be taken lightly, and will be a serious undertaking for me. Should I be allowed to enter the Curia, look forward to much meaningful debate on new bills and fundamental concepts.
I know that I have a reputation for being a bit of a prankster, but I can assure you that this is unwarranted. While it’s true that in my early days at TWC, I had a tendency to write “joke posts.” I can attest that this phase has been over for quite a time, and was merely part of my maturation at this fine web site. I still post the occasional humorous thread, but they are always respectful, and are written to make a point about a subject. I’ve even recently started a thread on the analysis and study of satire, something that I hope clears up any ambiguity in my objectives. I am also nourishing a budding ability for serious debate, as can be evidenced in my posts in the threads Stalinism: My Beliefs, WWII Shooters from the Axis perspective, Ann Coulter: Is she for real?, and Democratic Socialism: Your Beliefs. I put a lot of time and effort into these posts, and I almost always double check Wikipedia for factual accuracy.
Thank you very much for you consideration and time. Should I be elected to the civitateship, I plan to uphold my position with great responsibility and honor in a style that reflects very well on my patron and the Total War Center Forums.
