New computer graphics problem
Just baught a new computer, it came with everything apart from a graphics card as I was planning on using the one I just got recently. However when I slot the card in and switch on nothing comes up on my monitor but when i take it out the computer starts fine with the onboard card.

Check the BIOS? You may have set which one in there.

What am I looking to do in the bios?
I have changed it to recognise the PCI card and not the on board (i think)

Re: New computer graphics problem
Changed it to recognise the PCI slot rather than the onboard, tried two different graphics cards and still the blank screen

Re: New computer graphics problem
Any new mobo should default to the onboard one without even having to set something. Make sure it's in the slot correctly, and that the cables aren't the problem. What's the graphics card?

Re: New computer graphics problem
I have got it working now, but with a budget graphics card, it appears to have came without a 6 pin PCI

On the power supply? You can buy Molex to 6-pin if you're in a pinch - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812400034
Make sure you have a high enough wattage PSU for it though.
