Spent a bit more time than I should have, but oh well . This one isn't finished, with the open & flat parts requiring significant spicing alongside other additions & tweaks. I'm not quite happy with how I executed it since I was and still am getting used to a mere fraction of the program, but it didn't turn out terrible. It is very loosely based on Kamigori in Hyogo Prefecture; hopefully it will look a tad more similar once complete.

The land maps tied to the campaign map are made differently. Castle maps, however, yes. I haven't tried it, but TEd generates the same files found in the "preset" folder and that looks to be where the vanilla castles are defined. The only thing I'm not sure of is where the "preset" folders are tied to a particular settlement. Perhaps it's out of our reach. Still, the campaign should be able to be freshened up with new castles .

I has updated my map, and Anton, i need a lesson in how to create hills, yours are awesome!
how do you have a 8 star general?
I made a WW1 map but I can't change the info of the map in the Map_info where the letters are in bold. I havn't played a battle on it yet but heres some screens of it from the editor after it was finished.

Hellhound1: for hills, go to 'paint' and then choose the 'height' channel (drop box to the left). I find a nice rough brush in additive mode is good for mountains, coupled with some erosion using subtractive mode. Adjusting the height value in subtractive/additive mode increases the strength of the brush whereas in absolute mode, it sets the height for the ground under the brush. When in additive or subtractive mode, pressing 'x' toggles between one or the other.
Have fun!
Rough brushes are good for that, also try using the mountain brushes with a large height value - they're just like predefined mountain stamps
One trick I use is to rough out the shape of the mountain using big brushes and then progressively refine it using smaller brushes with less pressure (use '[' and ']' to increase and decrease the brush size).
