New Monitor... better performance???

So I am wondering if it is just me... or if this could actually happen. I have an old HannsG 28inch 1920x1200 that has been sorta buggy the last several months (ie. shuts off every now and then with 'display driver' issues - not sure if it was my card or monitor... and/or small blips of black lines here and there).

Well my wife has a work station with two Samsung 24inch 1920x1200 monitors... so i decided to check it out and to my surprise games are running a bit smoother??? For instance... the home on SH2 FOTS was always a little laggy... jumpy infact. But now it runs as smooth as silk. Same with CoH.

Also, and what was the final straw that made me actually try her monitor was when I tried ARMA2... there were tons of artifacts and ... and since I was thinking about installing DayZ, I was like wtf!!! But low and behold, everything is perfect now???


So... could a monitor actually have an affect on performance???

or was it that my old monitor was busted and was causing major issues with my games

Could it have been that your refresh rate was on the wrong setting?
