Default Problem Installing RTR Platinum for Steam RTW

    Hello,

I'm new to the forum and wasn't sure where to post this. I bought Rome Total War Gold Edition on Steam, and it came with Rome Total War (version 1.5), Barbarian Invasion (version 1.6), and Alexander. Anyways, I wanted to try the Rome Total Realism mod because it looks awesome. I downloaded and installed Rome Total Realism Platinum Edition in "program files>steam>steam apps>common>rome total war gold." Then I went into steam and went to the properties option for Rome Total War gold in my library and in the launch options box put "-mod:FOE -show_err -nm" (without the quotes). After that I restarted my computer, went to steam and launched Barbarian Invasion and everything looked like RTR had installed just fine.

My problem was when I go to do a custom battle or the "provincial campaign," all the factions are the same as RTW vanilla and they have the same unit selections. When I go to start a Provincial Campaign it takes me to the imperial campaign screen and I'm given the option to play as one of the three Roman families from RTW vanilla. In RTR isn't there only one roman faction? I started the campaign as the Julii and it goes the same as in RTW and the map is also the same. Also, I don't know if RTR changes the maps you can play on in a custom battle but they are all the same as RTW vanilla also.

So it seems like the install worked partially.... Hope someone can help me fix whatever the problem is.

    Thanks in advance!

OK, so I have it on Steam, and whenever I put on a mod, my properties and launch option input "rubric" is this:

-show_err -nm -mod:[mod execution file name without these brackets and no space between them and the colon]

Besides, did you install the FOE submod for RTR? If not, then your input for the launch option should look like this:
    -show_err -nm -mod:RTRVII

    Hope this helps!

EDIT: Oh yeah, pardon me, and welcome to the forums!

If you have Platinum edition mod foldered version then "-mod:RTR " . show_err , nm not really important is that show_err helps if you installed it wrong.

If TIC then "-mod:TIC " and so on. Better post in RTR own forum though because RTR have so many versions now that I've lost count.

Thanks for the help. I was telling steam to open RTR FOE but I installed the platinum edition. Works great now. I love this mod! Been busy playing that's why I haven't been back here to post lol.

I realized RTR had its own board after I posted this. Sorry!
