Default A Storm of Swords (fast & convenient HS)

    A STORM OF SWORDS

Westeros is in turmoil, and the events come thick and fast.

Stannis Baratheon has moved his troops to Storm's End, forcing his brother Renly Baratheon to react. The two brothers meet, but come to no agreement. With the help of the dark arts and the bastard Stannis Baratheon has fathered to the Red Priestess Lady Melisandre, Renly Baratheon is assassinated under the eyes of Brienne of Tarth and Lady Cately Stark.

Many believe Brienne of Tarth has killed young Renly, but other believe it was the work of Stannis himself.

Loras Tyrell is one of those who believe Stannis is responsible for the murder and has sworn revenge at any cost. And his sister Margaery wants nothing more than to be the Queen...
Renlys bannerman have moved over to Stannis at Storm's End, while the Tyrells have retreated to their lands in some haste, their plans unknown so far.

And in the North, anther betrayal broods...

Theon Greyjoy, desperate for power and the appreciation of his family and father, has betrayed the cause of Robb Stark, King in the North, and joined the forces of his family to attack the Shores of Stark territory. The lust for power of the young prince however know no borders, and whether he will stop the invasion at the Stony Shore only the gods know.

Robb Stark continues his march South with the armies of the North, pressing forward closer and closer to Lannister lands...

    Rules of Convenience

These are supposed to be 'guidelines' to make playing at the HS more convenient for everyone.

1.) When you PM a player for the next turn (mandatory), include the link to your last reply or to the HS at least in the PM.

2.) If you can nit play your turn in time, have someone to sub you. Use some of your allies preferably, but it doesn't matter really. To not screw around in tactics and to motive people to be subbed or play themselves, Admins will not sub, but skip turns.

3.) If you lose interest in the HS or lack the time, say so. That's no crime, just don't go inactive without a word.

Rules of the Hotseat (stolen, forgive me martin )

1.) Two forts per region per player (every player can have a maximum of two forts under their control in a region).

2.) Destroying buildings is not allowed if a city is under siege or if an enemy army large enough to take the city can reach it in one move.

    3.) No assassinating family members.

4.) Ships within a blockaded port are not allowed to move out without first defeating the blockade.

5.) When you upload a turn you must send a pm (not a visitor message) to the next player. Also see above about this rule.

6.) You can not use any bug within the game to your (or anyone elses) advantage.

Bugs include but are not limited to:
    - attacking ships in ports
    - surrounding an army with singe units to remove its ability to withdraw after a loss and thus killing it.
    - if you are unsure if something is a bug or not then pm me, I will not skip your turn if it has gone over while awaiting such problems to be sorted.

7.) Ships in a port can not be used to hide armies.

8.) No cheating in any way, shape or form.

9.) Pictures must be taken of all player vs player battles showing the odds and the outcome. Army composition and the flags of any units involved must not be edited. The pictures of the outcome can be uploaded in this topic, combined with Roleplay. We just pretend everyone has a Lord of Whispers and the outcomes of great battles are basic intelligence everyone gets.

10.) 5 units per fort. This is to reduce abuse of forts. Forts should be used to protect armies from open attacks not stop an entire army with a single unit.

    Factions

All will be displayed in GMT+0. You can find the clock here to calculate what that would mean for you.

    A. Lannister and Joffrey of King's Landing Frogspawned

    B. Tyrell vozd

    C. Stannis and Renly jacb547

    D. Stark and Tully Shady Sam

    E. Martell Makrell

    F. Arryn Lord Valerius (Moderator)

    G. Greyjoy martin616

As you see, the factions are not necessarily balanced. I'd advice the "harder to play" Factions shall be taken by experienced players, while newer players should take the "easy to play" factions.

What do you think of this? It's ment as a concept at first, really. Feel free to add ideas.

Changes I did so far (and hope will work)

1.) Starting date changed to 299 (Renly dies)

    2). GREYJOY

    a.) Changed King's Purse to 2000, instead of 2500.

b.) Greyjoy armies moved into Northern Regions, according to the book/series, as well as fleets. No regions taken so far, let the players decide that. Greyjoy army is bigger initially, more troops and more ships.

    3.) STARK

a.) I found the Stark armies to be too small, according to the books and the series the Stark army poses a real threat to the Lannisters, in the game they are easily defeated.
Thus, the Stark armies have been enhanced.

b.) Due to the timeline, the Stark armies have moved slightly south.

c.) Slight changes for the initial armies in the North. (Smaller, basically) The Norherners didn't expect a betrayal by the Greyjoys, the North has been ripped empty of troops to fight in the South.

d.) Enhanced troops in White Harbor and the Dreadfort. In the books, Eddard Stark tells his men to strengthen the forces in White Harbor, in case of an attack.

    4.) RENLY

    a.) Keeping the two factions

    b.) Renly Baratheon removed

c.) Renly troops moved to the coast, to the region where he and Stannis have met and where he dies in the end.

    I will take the Ironborn.

"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"

    Oh right, GMT+0

i would suggest putting next to the faction list what difficulty each one is just so new players know.

Actualy Martell is quite easy, they are very rarely attacked. The same goes for the Starks.
The most difficult factions in my opinion are Greyjoy, Joffrey, Tully and Stannis.
Joffrey, Stannis and TUlly are balanced out by getting another faction but the Ironborn aren't making them the most difficult faction here.

If you make it in the clash of kings period you could give large parts of the north to the Ironborn to balance it out.

It could be a good idea for a mini submod, clash of kings just after Renly's dead.

True, the cost party should be given to the Ironborn. I have not the slightest idea how to "mod", my knowledge ends where editing the text files in the world folder end... however it would be possible with that to shift regions a little. Or we do that ingame.

Please also add desired times to play, as well as your timezone. Furthermore I'll need a Co-Admin (preferably someone with more experience than me) to keep things going.

Once all spots are filled, I've got a good time order sorted out and found a capable Co-Mod, there will be a 24 hour phase where the Hotseat "started", but we wont play turns to sort out diplomacy with all players. Together with the banishment of battle in the first turn we'll hopefully get a smooth start for everybody.

I have changed my mind. I will rather wait and maybe sub for some other player, because I play in enough hotseats.

    Thanks martin!

Alright guys, I'll be gone for a couple of days, on my return I'll look whether all spots are filled (we can take our time though) and then make the changes to the starting, I have some balance ideas in mind.

    So stay tuned!

I finally got the submod up and working, so I'd like to try my hand in some hotseats. This would be my first hotseat if I'm permitted to play. I know a lot about the setting and I have TW experience, so I think I'll be able to catch on quick. While I'd probably prefer Joffrey/Lannister, I think I'll choose Tully/Stark as they're less central and I don't think I should play the central faction as a first-timer. Thanks!

As for times, weekends are flexible. Weekdays my preferred playing time is between 5PM and 2AM GMT+5.
