Well it appears when ATW is installed it is "activated" and can only be activate one time ever.

How the hell was i supposed to know that, is it said anywhere?

i had to reinstall my rome straight after installing alexander so iv installed the game twice already and there ws no problems. and you can install more than once because if you paid for it then you get the activation code in an email so if u deleted it then unlucky. oh and if you are thinking of buying the addon then do get the insurance just incase something goes wrong. prefer to pay an extra £2 than another £8.50.

Your first time downloading the Client you are able to install it straight away and it doesnt give you an activation key. If you want to install it on another machine you have to email them so they can send your Key to the email your purchased the game with. I got my serial key this morning about 16 hours after emailing them. Impressive response time.

It would be a lot more impressive if they E-mailed you the key right away, instead of witholding it and forcing you to ask them for it once you realize that you need it (which could be quite a long time after you place your order).

Yeah, it took them a couple of weeks to e-mail me mine.

When I ordered my ATW online, I read some place that I could activate it a max of 10 times. This is why I went ahead and bought the CD as a back up.

When you purchase it download, there is an option to buy a backup CD for $10 more (towards the bottom of the order form). I finally got my ATW backup CD yesterday through the mail and it is put away with my other RTW CD's for safe keeping now.

What a crappy way of making money. They deserve all the piracy they can get, really. So its about 25+ euro for an extension worse than the worst mod. Who do they think we are?

the problem is that they charge 10 pounds and the customers get irritating problems. A normal new game at least in Greece costs 50 euro. That 50 euro includes packaging, trasports, retail, taxes and all those stuff that raise the price of a product considerably. Now that thing which is the definition of crappy add on costs 15+ euro(1/3 of the price of a new game with proper packaging and rest) and you have to keep your pc busy downloading it plus the extra effort to make it work with all those activation craps. Well you still think its worth the money?
