    Tully Family History

The early records of the Tully family reveal that the house has its origins in Riverrun, the current stronghold and ancestral home to the Tully family. For much of its early history the family never ruled anything but Riverrun, serving as vassals to those who had power in the Riverlands. However the house would eventually rise to power in the Riverlands and make many of the other houses in the Riverlands their vassals. During the war of the Usurper Lord Petyr would align the forces of the Riverlands with that of the Baratheons lead by Robert Bartheon. The forces of the Riverlands lead by Lord Petyr in person; under his command the Riverland forces played a major role in the Battle of the Bells, the Battle of the Trident and in the subsequent pursuit of Royalist forces in the Riverlands. Following the ascension the house of Tully was among the numerous other house to swear loyalty to the Baretheon King.
