Default 128 MB ATI RadeonTM X300 SE HyperMemory

    Hi,

I have a dell dimension 5150, with a 128 MB ATI RadeonTM X300 SE HyperMemory graphical card. When playing rtw, the characters on the campaign map have no texture, only a color. Changing the settings doesn't help me. I wonder, Is this a graphical card issue and if so, is this the best this card can do for me? The battle-graphics aren't to good either. I've experienced this problem with two different legal copies of the game.

Have you tried updating to the latest drivers? Go to ATI's site and download it, then uninstall and clean your old driver with Driver Cleaner (Google it), then install the new driver.

You can try the drivers update as suggested, but a Radeon X300 SE isn't powerful enough to run RTW. Its the bottom of the food chain, and its the basic VC Dell installs so they can say their computer comes with a Radeon VC. Check the specs on the RTW box....the X300 SE doesn't make the cut.

Well me thinks its time to upgrade, as Hadrians right, the X300 SE is bottom of the chain, infact I wouldnt even say its in the chain anymore.
There are some real bargains to be had now.
Check for the latest ATI drivers, see if that helps, and try and turn AA off if its on, and go down to a low resolution, see if that helps. But the best thing that you could do would be to upgrade.

Installed the latest drivers, no improvement. Neither with AA off or lower resolution. Thanks for the advice anyway.

You could try reinstalling the game. If you have mods installed, they may have corrupted certain textures, or the game may have become damaged in some other way. reinstalling the game and ensuring you have the latest patches may help
