    Default My Band's New Album......

    Hello Everyone,

I dont know how many of you remember in Late december I made a topic about how the former band I was in released an album. I know I recieved some positive feedback from members of this community, and I knew this community, being so varied from person to person, is the perfect place to recieve feedback. Well, the old band I was apart of disbanded a couple weeks later, and in March I joined another, all good friends of mine.

We've been working on an album since then, rehearsing, playing songs at gigs, talents shows etc. It was my hope to have this topic around Monday, when we were scheduled to have it released, around 300 CD's burned using a bunch of our computers. It got held up for a few days however, and I was forced to due lyrics (I'm a lead guitarist) on 3/4 of the songs, due to our Rhythm guitarist (and main vocalist) getting caught in a, illegal operation, to put it lightly. To my disgust though, I had a soar throat that day, figures.

Anyways, enough of my story-telling. The Album is called 5 minutes Before the Show. Our style of music is Rock, leaning more towards classic rock (Influences like Clapton, ACDC, Zeppelin, Cream, Beatles etc) with some Blue's mixed in.

Any Feedback is greatly appreciated, be it negative or Positive, i've linked 3 of the songs below:

Make a myspace (a band one, that is, not your own) and upload the songs, then I'll listen to them.

    I listened to them.

As an old guy it would be unfair to give my opinion of the new music going around as I was in several bands myself back in the day and got used to guitar solos and such.

Just like any band I think yours needs work but like I said, every band does.

It wasn't horrible..just not my preference in music.

I applaud your efforts and wish you success.
    Most people lack the confidence,
"nads", or talent to do what you've done and I think in that respect, it's great.

    Keep it up

It's good for what it is. It's not my particular taste in music, but it's good as the style it's meant to be. Good work, keep making music.

    I really like it.

You need to make an album, I would buy it.

I enjoyed it especially the guitar solo at the end of Guns for Faith. If I actually paid for my music I might buy your album.

You know it isn't that bad. The vocals aren't terrible either (as sometimes they are). I give it a 7.5/10....meaning if you were a big time band that would sell about 1 million records. Good work.

By the way, the second song on your myspace (5 minutes before the show?) is really, really good.

Yeah, I enjoy limewire and programs like that, as well. Though I usually listen to to 1 or 2 songs then buy the album.

Thanks, I always enjoy feedback ... Yeah, that song is probably one of our best, surprisingly. We had a gig at our school's auditorium, and the teacher who was allowing us to do this came up to us. He asked us to play a new song, as he has heard alot of our music. Well, we had about 5 minutes to throw together a song, that was chaotic....

For some reason though, one of my favorites is our song "F U"

I have to say that Guns for Faith intro struck my as a cross between Red Hot Chilly bass and System of a Down lead/rhytm guitar. Then it takes a a more hardcore turn with crunch and blues. Lot of stuff happenin. It's good that you didn't settle for just one style/genre in this song.

FU is Okay, except where is the FU!

Overall, good work. I see that you are in initial stages of finding your own sound. Amidst the confusion you will come off sounding too much like others. That's OK. We all go through this phase. My advice: just keep at it. Evenutally you'll discover yourselves and be better and more original for it.

I have to say the one band experience I had, we recorded more than a dozen tracks. I was still a novice on guitar. But the sound that we were developin was sometin unheard of. That didn't last though.

Thank you To be honest, I dont listen to much RHCP or System of a down, our bassist probably does though. Our songs are either Rock or Blues, it's just how we go

The FU is the name of the file on my comp, because ******* you was said at the end of the song. On the Album it is called " I dont like it anyway"
