    Default veterancy bug

Happens sometimes that knights produced in castle with Jousting Lists/Tourney Field don't receive the experience bonus, same with knightly guilds. Have to retrain them over and over again which is a waste of time and money. Swordsmith's Guild and English Woodsmen's Guild (both upgraded) supposed to give global bonus to all units (if I understood correctly) but they don't.
Don't know if it is a bug but happens after assassin kills a general on the map, the next turn a different general appears out of nowhere in the same army.May be came from a nearby city I didn't notice?
The game is patched to 1.5

I dont know about the training issue, but for the AI, Generals will be generated to replace losses based on the number of cities they have. Unlike the way it works for the player. these can appear at the head of existing armies. Think of it as if the AI is having "man of the hour" events even when there wasnt an actual battle involved.

These xp-at-training bonuses fail to show up when you save your game. So each time you save your game, un-queue the training, and then re-queue them, or don't save your game at all. This is an easy solution because training takes only 1 turn (but in mods where units take 7 turns to show up, the only thing you can do is avoid saving the game, or retrain them).

Yes it's a bug, Aeratus said, you should do all that kind of upgrading as the last thing in your turn before hitting the "end turn" button and not reload the game. I've never got the woodsmans guild but I thought it only affected archers.

So this workaround is effective? Do the retraining at the end of your turn? I've often had this problem, I'd love it if this really works ...

Yes, I first noticed this while playing my first game of TATW, when as Gondor my troops all went through the upgrade machine, but then noticed nothing was happening although the money was spent. Asked the question here, and tried it - it works, makes reloading a bigger decision (plus an extra thing to remember before hitting the end turn button) that's all. I thought it only applied to armour and weapon upgrades, not experience upgrades, though I could be wrong. One thing to watch out for is to remember to leave some money for upgrades as the money you would have spent on upgrades early in your turn may not be available at the end of your turn.

    Yep it's annoying.

Yet I've noticed how to cope with this. Never order to recruit cavalry for couple of turns in advance. If you have two recruitment slots then order to recruit only two. If you need six cav units, you'll need to order to recruit those units for 3 times manually each turn. If not, then only units recruited after first turn will get exp bonus while others waiting in line won't.

    Very annoying.

Had that on my last campaign with English.

Whenever I produced Retinue bows, it said I could retrain them right away. And even then, the retraining didnt work and just clogged my recruitment squares.

OK maybe it is just the delay before battle but I don't use that much and I I'm sure that when I have a spy in a settlement I can see further into a settlement in a battle than I can otherwise. Next time I get a chance I will have to try saving, running a battle, then redoing it without the spy, will report the results!!
