How do I get 100% unrestricted camera like in the newer Total Wars?

In the newer total war games from Empire onwards I was able to get a 100% unrestricted camera where I could zoom in very far out or very close in (so close the camera could go through the terrain).

However in medieval 2 I have tried out the different camera's and clicked on the unrestricted view box but still it won't give me 100% unrestricted view e.g. I still cant get the camera all the way in onto my units so im literally on the same level as them or even below my units.

So is there anyway to get this 100% unrestricted camera? Do I need to modify something in preferences or is it something else or is it simply not possible?

It can be done through cine editor. That's all I know. I really hope there is some other way.

Do you mean the debug cam? From what I remember, the standard cameras in ETW onwards cannot do this.

The cheat, enter by pressing ~ in-battle.

That's the option that you can change through the menus. He's asking for the debug cam from the warscape games.
