"Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
Hi, I'm getting this error message, it happens on start up. I get the loading screen for about 20 seconds the the "Total War:SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" message appears. I can't even get into the game. Very frustrating. Help would be much appreciated

Re: "Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
Have you ever been able to play the game?
Do you have any mods installed if you were able to play?
do you have Chrome installed? If so, uninstall it and use another browser.
This game needs another 20gb of free space on your C: drive for a swapfile, too.
Update your motherboard drivers especilaay the graphics ones.
Try updating the graphics drivers at www.amd.com as your are still 2009. Incompatible with your notebook? Contact HP.

Re: "Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
Hi,
I tried everything you mentioned. Updated drivers, freed up space, deleted google chrome. Nothing seems to have worked. Reinstalling isn't really an option for me as it involves re downloading and I have a set amount of bandwidth, which isn't very large. I've posted an updated DXDIAG. Thank you so much for the help.

Re: "Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
Post the awesomium.log if it generated one.
Post the gfx.log.txt if it generated one.
How long did you wait before giving up? With your cpu, 30 minutes for the first time would not be unheard of.
Have you deleted the scripts folder if one got generated and verify the game cache? You have newer drivers for it to find.

I let it go for a good hour, nothing loaded, got the same error. Where would I find the logs if they're generated?

Re: "Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
awesomium.log = C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2
gfx.log.txt = users\username\appdata\roaming\the creative assembly\shogun2\logs after you unhide all files and folder in Folder Options, it won't show before.

OK I'm having this issue too. Well, I even deleted every single Shogun 2 file, and rebooted the game (sadly, I had to out of desperation) but it did not work. My awesomium.log and gfx.log.txt are here.

Re: "Total War: SHOGUN 2 has stopped working" on startup
Do you have Chrome installed on your computer? If so, uninstall it, then try it.
If not, have you tried it with the antivirus and firewall disabled?
Something is blcking it.
Can you run the Benchmarks?

Contact Sega support. I don't believe you are playing with that graphics card/chip.

You don't believe me? Or you don't think that is how the computer is working? And I did contact Sega today a couple hours ago, they haven't responded.

Through e-mail, to clarify that. And everything I posted here was from my computer, I didn't screw around with anything...
