Battle Freeze

I consistently get freezes during battles. It doesn't freeze the whole computer, just the program, but what's odd is that it never shows up as "not responding" in the task manager. I have waited 30 minutes for it to either show up as such or unfreeze, but with no luck. This happens every time I play a battle, usually about 5 or 10 minutes into the battle. I have 8gb physical memory and 8gb of page file. I tried to find a topic with a similar problem, but none of the CTD's/freeze problems seem to be the same as the one I'm having.

i forgot to add, ive tried reducing graphics to minimal with no success as well. also, i'm not running anything else while playing.

Have you tried changing the screen res? Do you have unit shaders turned on?

I just did, no go. I had high hopes for unit shaders too . Apparently I missed that checkbox the first time around. Thank you.
