Update on my Averni campaign. I've included the previous posts.
I took southern Gaul and invaded the Italian Peninsula, sacking Rome itself. Boom.

Waaiiiit a minute, barbarians with golden armor? Which temple is that?
Hmmm... i hadn't thought about that until you pointed it out. As far as i can tell its the war temple of Eponamaros & Epona. Gold armour is only accessible in my capital (Gergovia) where i have all three war temples built. In my other military cities everything is built except for that temple.
Well that's the first time i've ever heard of that. Even back when i did my first big Gallaeci campaign where the capital was maxed, i don't recall any golden armor.
Maybe it's an Avernii thing.
Btw did you hand northern Italy over to the Rebels?
I've never seen it either until now. Yeah i handed northern Italy to the rebels. I'm playing a bit of a turtle campaign to see what happens. For now i'm content with harassing the Romans and keeping them weak. When Carthage eventually take Iberia it will be an interesting war. Ideally I want to unite Gaul and Iberia under the Averni.
You have quite strong Sparta and Scythia there, something i haven't seen in my campaigns...
Macedonia(FYROM) is Bulgarian. If you don't believe me, read a book.
I've seen Sparta strong once before but never Scythia. Its preferable to having Sarmatia strong which is an absolute nightmare.
Unfortunately Scythia and Sparta are now allies. Scythia has just attacked me.
How...nice. On my Cimbrii campaign, my heir, a promising young warrior was hacking his way through avernii stacks. His trait list was good so far, when all of a sudden BAM! the king dies, he becomes warchief and gets the minor recession trait, which a few turns later turns into economic depression.......
Edit: It's a major depression now.

I've experienced that quite a bit, especially when generals are in the field.
Fixing it is rather easy though, just have whatever general with said trait become a governor in a settlement for a few turns, works like a charm.
.. That's granted you don't have a major depression.
What about posting the empire clarifying if it is 0-turn campaign or 1-turn campaign? (is just curiosity, maybe empires expands in a diferent way)
That was for dibbles right?
@mishkin My campaign is H/H 1 Turn
@Grimbold I look forward to seeing how you deal with such a difficult situation. Can you post a couple more screenshots next time? What does your main army look like?
Also, it looks like you have changed some of the faction colours. As far as i can tell Sparta = Red, Ptolemaics = Gold, Gallaeci = Light Green and Dacia = Dark Blue?
The hellish situation didn't last as long as i expected. In the northwest, the 3 Belgae stacks were horrible, in the sense that they weren't proper armies per say, just levies and lower quality units bunched together, so those were 3 auto resolved battles.
Consequently i expelled the belgae from their holdings in Gaul, so i control that part now. The army script or whatever is making proper belgae spawn near their major fortress in Gaul, but there are not match for my 2nd army, which is more experienced now.
The Avernii aren't sending proper armies either, hell, they aren't even sending full stacks anymore.
This gave me some breathing space and any enemy force attacking said borders is being repelled by a small force of volcae axemen i put together quickly.
In the east, the romans keep sending legions, attacking Noreia and the former Boii capital, but my main army is, to my surprise, defeating them with some ease.

Edit: And yes Dibbles, i changed some of the faction colors which i didn't like, specially the turquoise from the Boii...ugh horrible. Both the Boii and the Gallaeci have olive green tones, Dacia's color changed when i altered Pergamon's color and i didn't think pink suited the Ptolemaics.

currently playing the Ptolemais... very relaxing!![]()
It's probably the campaign with easiest early phase in the mod.
Carthaginians can't harass you because they're busy with the Gallaeci, which only leaves the Seleucids who have their own issues to deal with.
If you want to turtle, this is probably the most relaxing faction to do with it. Just strolling around, building up Egypt.
Well Visarion you made me start another Ptolemaic campaign.

At war with the Greek City states, the Seleucid Empire and more recently. Sparta declaring war at me is another result of AI stupidity. They let the GCS take all of the western part of Greece which Sparta took from Macedon on the first place, they remain at war with GCS and thought it'd be a good idea to attack one of my ports
Perhaps i should land my armies in Greece and get rid of these annoying greeks or just march east for Pontus.
