    Default Favorite Animated Film

We've all watched tons of animated films, mostly when we were younger and not ready for live action. What's your favorite? Personally my favorite was "The Thief and the Cobbler" An immaculately animated, extremely funny Arabian Nights style story by Richard Williams. One ingenious scene involves the Thief, who has removed three golden magical balls from the top of Baghdad's highest tower. Apparently if these balls are removed, the city will fall. The Thief has been trying to steal them, and while pursuing the balls, he stumbles onto a polo field and, well it's funny to say the least.

    Never watch anime.
Pixar films are surprisingly enjoyable, especialy if you're high because they have such a happy mood.

Heavy Metal. Wizards and The Plague Dogs are both good too.

It would probably suck, like almost all the newer episodes.

I work in animation, so in my expert opinion the best animated film is....Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, it just don't get better than that. best music though is Jungle book, and the coolest is Akira.

@Drexxus Heavy Metal is a dam fine film also.

Its really hard to choose best animated film as there are so many great ones made.

These are something that have been my favourites for long time.

    Anime series: Cowboy Bebop.

Meet Spike and Jet, a drifter and a retired cyborg cop. They've formed a partnership in a bounty hunting enterprise that specializes in adventure and cash. Using an old converted fishing ship called the Bebop, with the help of the intelligent data dog, Ein, the mysterious and vexing femme fatale, Faye Valentine, and Ed, the genius hacker -- Spike and Jet scour the galaxy to clean up space, one bounty at a time.
Anime Movie: The Grave of Fireflies.

Some movies can leave an impression in your mind forever. There are several of these movies for me, but since this list is all about anime, the subject right now is the beautiful masterpiece known as the Grave of Fireflies. This is one of the saddest movies I have ever seen. The Grave of Fireflies is one of those few films that I would show to non fans and even anime haters. The movie takes place in World War II era Japan as a brother and sister fight to survive against hunger and neglect. These two children are forced to go through a lot, as they lose their mother, and are forced to live with their aunt who mistreats them. Eventually they are forced to live in a cave, and are pretty much forgotten by the world in which they live. What's really unique about this film is that right in the beginning the ending is given away by a ghostly narrator, and so the viewers are pretty much just waiting for the inevitable. The Grave of Fireflies is a completely beautiful movie, and is the closest a movie can ever come to being a work of art. This is definitely not a movie to miss out on.

The film is based on a true story. Akiyuki Nosaka lost his little sister during the war to malnutrition and blamed himself for her death. He wrote Hotaru no haka (A Grave of Fireflies) in 1967 to come to terms with it.
