Reset? How and when?

Ok people. If you guys want a Reset, we must first debate WHEN will the reset start and how will everyone be effected.

Did the Targs do any rp with the Westerosi players? If not, then they could continue with all the rp they did so far.

Should we start after the coronation and etc or before? We could say that the current King died (if he doesnt show up soon) and put another one (OF HIS HOUSE) in power (another player may choose to take the mental).

Or we could simply do the coronation again.

Coronation: I say we re-roll to see who the King is, but only between some of the great houses. Realistically, some would not have been able to be in power for 15 years and keep the peace, such as Martells (Dorne to different), Tyrells (for reasons that have become apparent), and Greyjoys. Starks could be Kings, as has often been hinted in the books (had Ned taken the throne when he walked into the throne room while Jaime was there). Baratheons could obviously be Kings. I think the Lannisters could be too, because of the position Jaime was in, being so close to Aerys.

If Clagius doesn't show up, we could just re-roll for king. Preferably start after his coronation, in the celebratory feast or something, so we can get some interaction & RP beyond 'you so awesome new boss' over & over again. Joust, melee, etc. can follow afterward.

The Targ thing I dunno about, it's probably going to get derailed anyway with the ongoing cluster in the Isles and Ulti's departure. I guess it'd depend on the participants?

As for the when, the sooner the better, for the very reason Jakev's outlined.

True Clagius is on vacation, but we do need a reasonably active king and as I don't know when he's coming back...

Anyway, I maintain that it isn't totally necessary for the Baratheons to be kings, we just have to rule out certain houses from the inevitable roll - Greyjoy & Martell due to their differences to the rest of Westeros, and perhaps even Stark (no land connection to KL, nowhere near KL, religious & cultural issues...) The lore can be edited to accommodate things as we demonstrated earlier, and the involvement of the various player houses & characters added.

Eh, while I'm not totally opposed to a Baratheon King, I'd be cool with another house that isn't too outlandish (Martell/Greyjoy primarily). We've managed to make the Tyrell ascendancy make sense in the backstory I wrote up: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=537230

In the case of a non-Baratheon king being allowed we could just say Robert died in his rebellion as the backstory above already outlined, giving other houses a shot.

Agreed. This also makes it optional for those who do not wish to be the Baratheons, to pass it up. Therefore if 3 people have interest, they can roll for the House. That way nobody is forced to play a house they don't want.

The other bright side to this is that we won't need to change all the lore around to appropriate one Houses claim (such as a Tyrell king...)

With the Baratheons maintaining control of 7K at the start, we can just go off exact lore, and mend parts of it to every individuals specifications like names of characters, history of character, history of minor houses, etc. But the bottom line is that the basics remain the same;

There was a rebellion. It was started by the Baratheons. The Baratheons claimed the throne. Greyjoys dont like that, they rebel. Etc.... It's easier then wasting our time thinking up a storyline to get us where we're at.

I'm one who will not be wanting to play Baratheon, but I believe they should be our starting Kings.

Well, tecnicly it is shown to be traditional for a Lord of a Kingdom to abdicate from that Kingdom to take over the Iron Throne (Robert gave Storm's End to his brother). So we could have one brother having the 7K and the other having the North, in a way that it wouldnt really matter if the North is connected by landmass or not.

Option 2 (Baratheons) for me. I would gladly volunteer as King...first time I would ever attempt to be a ruling figure in any roleplay...besides TRS.

Restart as soon as possible, with the newer fixes such as finances, etc in place.

I believe resetting the Iron Islands rebellion, and the Kingdom rebellion as well as a new coronation. I don't see quite the reason why a player would accept a position as King and then go on vaca for a few weeks. King is the most important role in the realm, we need them active, so RP in KL doesn't... die.

However, I think some people had problems with levies and finances, and that issue needs to be resolved fully before the reset. I believe we NEED a reset to 297AL, but we need to have everything in order so we can do it all properly this time. Rolls, Finances, Levies, Great Houses, all that jazz.
