Text missing in many different windows.

I recently uninstalled and reinstalled MTW2 and Kingdoms because I had downloaded a mod that messed it up. Since reinstalling it, I opened up a new campaign and noticed that a lot of the text was missing from various windows. In the economy window, the numbers are all there, but the texts telling me what they all mean is missing. In the city screen where it says recruitment and construction, these words are missing from the tabs. Actually all the tabs are blank. How do i fix this?

When you uninstalled it , did you also delete both Medieval II Total War folders assuming Vista or Win 7, run a good free registry cleaner, and rebbot before reinstalling?
