Default Fact-finding Poll: Are you playing with 0-turn or 1-turn recruitment?

This is a topic which always comes back - Do you use 0-turn or 1-turn?

It would be interesting to know if there are majorities playing one of the two recruitment systems, or if they are used equally by the players.

I personally favor 0-turn, I think it to be more realistic and it provides a bigger challenge. In my current campaign as Gaelici I was invaded by 5 full roman legions at the same time, which was a very nice playing experience; especially with VH battles.

Also, feel free to share your thoughts about the recruitment systems or engage in friendly discussions with other members about it.

I am of the opposite opinion Luke Vader. For myself, 1 turn makes battles more significant. I found that 0 turn was very challenging (good) but also became incredibly tedious (bad) when all those stacks began flooding in. Also, using 1 turn, one gets more attached to individual legions/ armies (good).

I also favor one-turn because if you lose a battle you have to scramble to raise troops to fill the void that army once held which I feel is very realistic.

I prefer 1-turn, IMO it is more realistic and you have less repetitive battles, it is better using 4 turns for year scrip, it would be a dream with 12 turn for year.

Thread is overrun by 1-turn fanatics.

The 0-turn favoring are playing right now, and can´t answer.

If I could vote I would choose 1 turn for reasons some people already said. Battles mean more and there are less of them.

We win because of the 3 "R", that is:'one turn' is more Realist, Relaxing, Recreative.

I choose 0-turn. I'm not sure if someone deleted my post, or if I just didn't click on Submit. But those 3 R's that Diocle posted actually stands for one R as in Retarded or slow.

I like one turn don't get me wrong, but like dvk said, it's all a matter of perception. Rome recruited several legions quick, not one cohort per year.

A properly designed and balanced 1turn campaign is by far the more satisfying and less repetitive/generic game experience as it does not allow for instant rebuilding of armys and reinforces the strategy part of the game and I dare to say that most who played FGE can and will happily confirm this...

I prefer one turn recruitment. Just hate creating massive armies in no time and AI stack spamming.

The only downside of a 1-turn campaign seem to be the imbalances of economy. In comparision to a 0-turn game everything is being built rather quick. Apart from that I'm enjoying it not to be forced to have a few battles per turn with recurring armies.

Turn 1, the reason, you will pay for it later if you choose 0 turn. Take my word. More enemy stack ships than you ever desired and Free peoples, and not counting your enemy stacks after 140 years into game. This will be massive when you just want to hit the resolve button. After a while it became tiresome to play battle after battle with the same faction stacks. But have fun, we are not telling you how to play this mod.

I like one turn for that reason. I even like the multi turn requirements for the more elite units. Makes investing in them more than just a question of cash. And it really hurts when you loose them!

I am new to RS. Can I ask the "I missed the obvious answer someplace else" question. How do I switch between the two?

It on the launcher. You have to select one or the other when you start the game and you cant switch between the two during the game.

yep, RSII economy in one turn campaigns definitely needs to be rebalanced and upkeep raised like FGE, but my things are still 0 turn campaigns, I Personally enjoy Blitzing and roleplay, so it's more realistic, especially when hit the hundred-ish turns and the enemy has a lot of stack spams thrown at me, it's more a tactical challanges to outmanouver them... but guess it's a matter of taste....
