    Icon4 Hyper Conversion of Rome

In a KGCM as Byzantium I destroyed buildings, put 2 spies into the city, and put 4 priests into Rome which got Orthodoxy up to 8 percent. The next turn Rome revolted and I captured it; and repaired all the happy buildings and the theologians guild. I had just the last turn moved more priests into Rome and had a total of 8 there. There were no catholic priests in the territory. The turn after taking the city of Rome I noticed that Orthodoxy is 92 percent and Roman Catholicism is 8! How could this be? I have never ever seen any such rapid swing.

Thread moved from Medieval II: Total War General Discussion to Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod section.

Such a thing can happen if the modder is using some custom religion swapping script in his campaign_script.txt file. But no idea if KGCM has such a script. Dave will surely know of this.

I have subsequently had some rapid increases in orthodoxy in regions that were at zero or close when I took them over but the jump has not been up to even 50 percent after one turn (IIRC).

I just took Agder and put 10 priests in the region which was at zero orthodoxy. A small orthodox church was finished at the end of this turn. So at the start of the next turn there is one small orthodox church and the population is 56 percent orthodox. There were no catholic priests in the region and all the happy buildings had been repaired. This result seems to be in the range of what I normally been seeing.

In south America I put 3 priests in and it went to 29 percent the first turn and to 50 percent on the second. This also looks like the usual diminishing return for conversion as the percentage of your believers grows. Now after 3 turns the percentage is up to 90; there were 4 priests there and no small church even.
