Opera 9.0

A new version of the Opera web browser was released yesterday. The new version includes:

• BitTorrent downloads
• Widgets
• A preview of tabs when you hover the mouse over them
• Site specific preferences (if you want one site's popups to appear and every other site's to get blocked, it's easy)
• Improved rich text editing

I think Opera is finally a head-and-shoulders above Firefox with its support of loads of stuff, the unlimited possibilities in user-created widgets, and more configuration options.

Go try it out.

Yep, dl'd it last night, and it's great. My only problem is that Pandora doesn't work now. I hope that'll be fixed soon.

I like Opera, but I find Firefox to be more compatible with a greater number of sites.

Also, Opera doesn't let you install as many "extensions" as FireFox.

Just click on the link, click "Download Widget", say yes to the pop up, and then go to 'Widgets' on the toolbar in the top left and select it.

Firefox has more extensions and add-ons. For example, you can download and install a little Yahoo mail notifier for Firefox, but you can't do that with Opera.
