Hey guys, this has been mentioned numerous times in multiple places but I couldn't seem to find a topic solely for informing people of this. If you are having problems with desyncs (which is very likely to be honest) in the multiplayer campaign then your best bet would be to ditch playing on Total War online and play it on a virtual LAN. You can play on a virtual LAN with anyone, who is anywhere, by using a VPN program such as Hamachi or Tunngle.
I find that Tunngle works best as when I tried using Hamachi me and my partner couldn't see each others games, so to save the hassle of configuring our routers and firewalls and what-not, I decided that we best try a different software. You have to register and validate your account a couple of times before you can create a network but it is much easier than configuring multiple different things to work with Hamachi. If Hamachi works for you by default then by all means use it. Both of them are fantastic programs and Hamachi works for most games I have played but it seems Tunngle is the way forward for Total War. I seriously recommend trying out one of them if you want to actually finish a campaign.
I don't know if I'm aloud to link to other websites on this forum but it's helpful, delete it from my post if it goes against the rules.
