    Default Roman Project

Hello everyone, I'm working on a project which would make all the great Roman mods into a compilation, but also add many new elements and features to the Roman Campaign. I would like it to be for both RTR Platinum and RTR Gold. You can see the original topic in the RTR Platinum forums here.

I would like to set up a team of Roman fans like myself, that would be interested in this. Please take into account that I'm only just a beginner modder, with very basic knowledge, but am quickly learning everyday since school is out and I can have all day to working on the mod.

The main 'big' mods that would be included would be Candelarius' Extended Realism Mod and Tiflo's Roman Legion Reloaded Mod, but also many other smaller mods for the Romans. The main 'big' mods I can garuntee will be in, due to Candelarius' and Tiflo's permission, but I still have to ask the authors of the smaller mods for permission in including theirs. The full list of the mods is in the original topic.

Now for features: Note: some of these features are 'borrowed' from other mods, so please take into consideration that I have not yet asked the authors for permission so I cannot garuntee that they will all make it into the mod, mainly Dominus' and King Arthur's Spartacus script from Dominus mod.

    FEATURES
    • Roman Colliseum takes 7 years to build (as it was in reality) and is only buildable in Rome
    • Bigger Roman Forts - by LT1956
    • 4 turns per year by Marcus Camillus (A must)
    • Spartacus Script from Dominus Mod. In 73 BC a huge Revolt will trigger and a huge expirienced rebel army will appear outside Capua.
    • The Pantheon is buildable
    • Recuitable Roman AOR in Britain
    • Implementation of my 'Industries' idea, wich would make provinces with an abundance of natural resources have separate building phases to fully exploit it's resources. I'm hoping to make this work closely with the Naval Mod.
    • Public Baths add public order to city, because in reality they were social places.
    • Maby the Roman forum, buildable only in Rome of course.
    • Hoping for custom cities, this totally depends if I can learn the how to do them, or if I can find someone interested enough to do them.
    • 2 Roman reforms, Marian reform (of course) which hopefully will be scripted to happen in 107 BC, and Imperial reform in 30 AD
    • Extended campaign to 100 AD or so.
    • Colonists for moving around and settling in other cities, they will be expensive to represent the government spendings to take care of such a large number of moving population. Also, they will have no military value. This is open to debate as a part of me thinks that it might give an unfair advantage to the player.
    • Town Militia unit for garrisoning duties for the Romans.
    • Triarii upon recruitment start with 2 exp chevrons to represent their experience and their role as veterans. Principes respectively start with 1 exp chevron. This is open to debate, and I still don't know if it's possible.
    • Buildable Circus Maximus
The main work in the project will be in getting all the mods to work together, balancing, a few new skins, addition of new buildings, and also very much work to the realistic cities idea.

In conclusion, with this project I hope to make it a totally different experience in playing as the Romans. Right now the Romans are just another faction with different tactics. With this mod I want to add a roleplay element, harder gameplay as the Romans, and also more accurately represent the Roman world at the time. Kind of like an Ultimate Realism mod. It would also be best for it to be closely related to playing by Candelarius' Ultimate Guide to playing RTR Historically as the Romans.

If anyone would like to join and help, either post here, PM me, or contact me at cancerspam88@yahoo.com

    Best of wishes,
