    Default War Games

So just to get the ball rolling ... what faction will you play first and what is your strategy for them right out of the gate. I realize this could be useless because the devs might be putting in special scripts and things to it hard, but this is still a good way to pass the time.

First playthrough: House Stark hands down, call me what you will, but they have been the underdogs.

Strategy: Build economy and relations with my vassals before the hits the fan. Once enough northmen have been drafted I will annex the Twins because we all know how those guys play the game of thrones . Meanwhile I will land a small force on the iron islands to establish a beachhead while House Frey is being dealt with, then forces from the twins will purge Theon Turncloak and his ilk from the planet. After which I will clean up the mess in the riverlands. After that I have no idea. I suspect good ole Joffery will still be around so I would march on him if Renly/ Stannis hasn't.

House Renly Baratheon! The first thing I will do as king is kill my traitor brother Stannis, then launch one expansion southwards to deal with the Martells, and one to take King's Landing
Under the patronage of Finlander. Once patron to someone, no longer.
    Content's well good, innit.

Tully, first thing I am going to do is execute Jaime and Tywin Lannister
"I, Pinkie Pie, declare that these treats are fit for a king, or a queen, or a princess!"
"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

Starks, ill marry into the twins then go south and save the tullys ass from getting pounded out like tortillas. Then hopefully if no betrayals i can destroy the Lannisters and Joffery. Still curious how the Arryns will act as i do all this...

i hope the Arryns and Starks are fixed in the next release. I hate that the North does nothing and the Vale always betrays the Tullys.

That if you promise to wed a Frey you should actualy wed a Frey and not a Westerling.

    Really?

Now that's what's annoying me about the series. In the books they left everything to your imagination, with you wondering whether there actually is a scheme/lie/plot. In the show they're coming out and foreshadowing all this crap and making it obvious.

You were never really sure if Renly and Loras were gay. You were never sure if Robb's wife was just a Lannister plot to get the Freys. You never knew if Stannis actually ed Melisandre (although it was a lot more obvious than those last two). Now with them showing everyone's perspective in the show, you know all the schemes surprises before they happen, and can probably figure it out even if you didn't read.

we really dont know, GRRM might be trolling us or as he sated numerous times he hardly remembers the description of his characters but when Catelyn saw Jeyne she was discribed as hasing good hips for child bearing but when Jaime got her she had narrow hips. this might be seem as a small mistake but Brynden fled under Jaimie's nose and Edmure was happy about something even though he was pretty pissed off and defiant when he was sent to negotiate...some people claim this means that Jeyne has Robb's Kid...therefor the heir to the Kingdom of the North and Riverlands. however it was Jeyne own mother that presented Jeyne to Jaime...you know the same mother who gave her moon tea to stop her from getting pregnant...she was the one that betrayed Robb.

idk maybe she had a sudden change of heart? was afraid for her daughter because she was now in danger?
thats why I love GRRM, you never know...

I'm thinking of a way to get Joffrey killed without declaring war on him (I'll be playing the Lannisters). That way my conscience would be clear that I don't secure the Kingdoms for an idiot mad king.
I do hope the mod would have a way to simulate the treacherous lords in the books. (I'd like keeping the Reach, the North and whoever else as allies after I kill their current ruling families.)

As for my second game with the Freys I'd just sit back and look at the war until I get a good offer or I can backstab my neigbours and become lord/king of the North/Riverlands/Vale/Iron Isles

This might be better off in the book discussion topic but couldn't they swap the mother too? I mean did Jaime actually see her before the whole war? Robb's son would mean a whole new turn of events with a struggle for ruling the North, I doubt GRRM would do it. You'd need the time till the kid grows up and with just two more books...
Some battles are won with swords and spears, others with quills and ravens. Tywin Lannister
