ITW 1.5: advices, tricks and strategies
I'd like you post in this thread your doubts and findings about the possible strategies in the different campaigns of ITW 1.5.
CAMPAIGNS
The four provincial campaigns are designed to be played with the corresponding scripts. Thus, don't forget to press F1 at the beginning of the campaign and also when a saved campaign is reloaded.
Click on the advisor portrait and then in the "show me" button.
You must play with "no advice" option (advisor_verbosity = 0) just to prevent that any unscripted advice masks the scripted ones.
At the beginning of the first turn (the starting turn is zero) you will receive a message with your first mission.
Once the mission is accomplished, you will receive a message and probably a reward, either at the moment or at the beginning of the next turn.
Then, at the beginning of the next turn, you will receive the message with the new mission. Depending on the campaign, perhaps you will have several missions at the same time.
When reloaded a saved campaign, you will receive also a message to remind your next mission.
My advice is to save the campaign once the message of the next mission is seen. Saving once the mission has been acomplished but before the message has come may produce some strange effects with the incoming messages once the campaign reloaded.
Forget the win conditions you see in the provincial campaign screen. The victory is conditioned by script.
Here you have some general points about the strategies in the different campaigns.
Roman and Carthaginian campaigns
As the superpowers of that period, both empires begin with large and poweful armies, spread along a large territory.
In general these two campaigns will be difficult from an economical point of view. You will get bankrupt early and this will be solved only thanks to the rewards in missions and to the sacking of the conquered settlements.
At the same time you will have to keep calm your homeland and fight in Iberia to be the ruler. Thus ships will be the key for communications, and you must try to keep them safe, or the lack of money won't allow you to build more ships.
Move your armies by sea before getting at war with the other superpower.
Celtic campaigns (celts, lusitanians, celtiberians)
In principle these three factions are far from the scenary of the Punic War, and they will fight against the other two to be the ruler of the celtic tribes.
Iberian campaigns (ilergeti, edetani)
These two factions represent the most difficult campaigns. They are from the very beginning in front of the superpowers.
You should try to resist, use your spies and diplomats, make alliances with the other superpower, or make whatever you want (or you can).
Turdetani campaign
This is an odd campaign, as you start as the ally of one of the superpowers (Carthage). Try to follow the missions to build a solid empire.
Trust on carthaginians, they will be loyal to you, unless your situation becomes much weaker and this converts you in an easy victim.
Please, share your experiencies with us to improve the next releases.

TIPS: THE CAMPAIGN OF THE ILERGETES
Your position is Critical. The Romans have landing in Barkeno and they have constructed a potent guarnition.
YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO against them in close combat. They will conquest Barkeno in the 2nd turn. So, mobilize your troops to Ilitirta if you don't want to lose an important general.
YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR NEW TERRITORIES. Saltuie, Uxama and some rebel provinces near you are (you can also try to conquest the West of Gallia). These territories are very rich and can give your economy a lot of beneficies and you could use it as your new base against the romans.
FORGET INDIKETIA, BARKENO AND ILITIRTA. These cities will fall. It's civilians will have the romans occupied with rebelions (You can provoke rebelions with spies)
MAKE ALLIANCE WITH THE CARTHAGINIANS. The enemy of my enemy it's my ally. The enemies of Carthage are the Edetans and the Romans. Both factions are your neighbours. You could conquest some edetan cities.
USE MERCENARIES. They are very helpful, use a lot of Barskun mercenaries they have armor piercing and that's very useful against romans.
KILL ROMAN GENERALS. If they don't have governors in the cities they have conquest you the civilians will rebelate easily. Fight in forests, block docks, kill little units... etc
BEWARE WITH CELTS, CELTIBERIANS AND GAULS...if they attack you it will be your ruin.
GOOD LUCK!!
