    Default Gloss Maps

    Hello people,
I was adjusting some video settings on the game and saw the option about gloss maps. What does that mean? Does it improve graphics on game ? I appreciate your answers .

In the original RTW Vanilla, there were special files that would make certain parts of armor or shields or helmets look 'shiny' by lightening certain spots on the unit.
They are not used in RS2 because the 'shine' is either built into the texture itself, or is enhanced by the different 'shaders' that RS2 uses.

By checking that option you are just telling the game it can use those files wherever they exist. But since they don't in RS2, it isn't necessary to check that option.

Closing then, and congratulations, I don't recall seeing anyone ask that in the last few years, it's a first! OK, it may have been asked but it is a very rare question indeed!
