Stuff we can use from alex
This thread is to check what units or models in user's opinion can be used from alexander in order to add appeal to the XGM campaign...
In my opinion we can list them as:
1) sicklemen model and texture: with some slight changes (for example putting a spear instead of the sickle) this can be used as AOR infantry for many barbarian areas.
Personally I would use them as level 3 infantry for carthage in barbarian areas, armed either with spear or sword to represent the infantry coming from minor recruitment pools for the cartaginian army (corsicans, sardinians, sicilians and richer celtic troops).
2) alex immortals: the model is lovely, I would replace the current version of GM immortals with a retextured version of this guys...
3) phrygian mercenaries: give them an hoplon styled shield and they could be a nice AOR unit or as a merc in anatolia and around the black sea
4) persian cav models: with a reskin and shield they can be a level 3 cav model in the east, useful as non kataphract heavy cav for seleucid and seleucid rebels, I would suggest changing the shield before though
5) allied cavalry: useful as AOR unit, can be used with minor changes as generic non native cavalry by many factions
6) hoplite/hypaspist: quite generic models, can be used as auxilia units by some factions
7) indian elephants: nice AOR unit for india, stats similar to war elephants but I would put slightly better morale to represent their better training (indians were the masters of elephant warfare)
8) persian temple complex icons: level 5 temple for carthage and eastern factions, would be welcome imho.
9) Thessalian cavalry maybe would be nice as AOR unit since now most units can be recruited in one turn (DBH, why greek mercs cannot? At this point it is more convenient to just raise their upkeep)
10) maybe also the indian skirmishers could have an use, with some extra armour and a reskni they could be converted in the indohellenic thureophoroi (which seems a more appropriate name than EB's since the role they play)

Re: Stuff we can use from alex
Well, the problem is that many units in alex are just copies of vanilla RTW units...
Basically we already got companions, macedonian heavies, eastern inf (heavy and light), chariots, slingers, archers and most barbarian units. You can't really use most indian stuff because they are totally fantasy units, so you're left with the limted roster I listed...
Anyways, I'm always open to other proposals.

Looks a good list
Any use for the axe armed Persians (another seleucid rebel unit)
Shame that the Indians can't be used for Baktrian border AOR.

Re: Stuff we can use from alex
Well, for baktrians and indians we might use a few ideas from EB and implement indian hoplites and indian longbowmen, in this case DBH would have to do quite a lot of skinning though...

Nuts - I was hoping for lots of jungly looking cities and usable Indian units to complete the eastern side of the map.

Re: Stuff we can use from alex
Not directly, all stuff on XGM is based on CA models and skins modded by DBH, you can see in the credits when and where we use external material.
What we do is to look at what other mods did, if they had good ideas we develop our own version of it, there is nothing bad into taking inspiration from other places...
